Finally got around to trying my blind VBS bottle. Definitely a saison, picking up a lot of lime and a bit of lemon. The bottle makes me think it's Hill Farmstead, but no idea which one. And the reveal: Grassroots Brewing Brother Soigne! The bottle says it was made at HF, so I was kind of right on the brewery....but it's definitely a New brewery tick, and was delicious, one of the best saisons I've had. But that's not all....I also got a delayed swag box... Tree House dog leash and sticker! This is awesome @beluga92, Rey can't wait to use her new leash (From one of my favorite breweries)!! You crushed this round and deserve that best box prize!!!
Just drank my second blind VBS from @rspauldi Turns out this was a mega want (this was one of my three wishes in the MAW sheet)!! The smell while pouring is amazing! Very rich dark beer, no adjuncts. This is the perfect example of a porter or stout. I had my suspicions about what it could be, but I still can't believe I'm finally drinking this long time want: Reveal: Ahhhh!!!!! So hyped about this! There are not enough exclamation marks in the world right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks @rspauldi. This box of beer was insanely generous. Not only was it 60lbs of beer, but it was mostly wants, including some mega wants like Dark Lord, Surly Darkness, Bo and Luke, and Everett Porter. So awesome ! Obvious contender for best box!
Forget to mention Nocturne Chrysalis in that list of mega wants...plus 3 other beers from Jester King. Too many whales to name landed on my porch!
@CBrodbeck got word of damaged shipment, but sounds like they repacked and it's out for delivery today. Hope not too much was lost...
Cracked another one of the big boys from my BIF box. I was super disappointed with DBJ so I was kind of dreading this one even though it was a huge want. Turns out it's not super cloying and sweet, really mellow actually (not surprising, it's from 2015). Nice woody, chocolatey notes. Thanks @VaTechPhilly!
