Hey Newbs. Thanks for visiting the Locals at the Crack House. It was great sharing with you all and getting both repeat and new handshake ticks. Cheers.
Thanks for posting those pics, great times for sure. Fun meeting many of you for the first time! Thanks for hosting the share on Friday, lots of fun in an interesting location! Back to work today, always fun after a Huna trip
I'm pretty behind posting the insane number of boxes I got hit with in the last few weeks. First up, this beauty from @Elkevjoe Loved the hoof hearted hops, that south of eleven is insanely drinkable, and the fresh hop juju was awesome. One of those wrapped bottles was Evelyn, a raspberry sour from Jackie O's that was really tasty, cant wait to get into all the others. Oh right, coffee abraxas! Saving that for next weekend! Next up, @azuelke ninja'd me: The king sue was awesome, have wanted to try that forever, haven't gotten into the others, but I can't wait to try the new glarus beers along with everything else. All new ticks! @Tifore hit me with a return fire box: Enjoyed all of these so far, the BA bible belt was great, as were all the hops! Just a few left and cant wait to try them. @Greeny87 hit me with a thank you box for a trillium pickup: Been enjoying these a lot, the milkshake was very interesting!
Last up, @BartS dropped off a very generous box because I placed 2nd for last round's best box. Thanks for the votes everyone, very happy to share the beers I love with this fun group! Especially big thanks to Bart, who went to the trouble of dropping this box off at my apartment even though I couldn't get away from work to meet him. This box was insane. I'm always hoping to try more de garde beers, this sounds incredible, and oak theory was a favorite of mine from a beerfest where I got a baby pour. Abraxas, black gold, firestone XX, and bravo?!?! Abraxas is a permawant favorite of mine, and the rest sound awesome. Cant wait to try the oude kreik, this box was basically pure wants. Thanks so much Bart, and the rest of the newbies, looking forward to the next round!
I'm working on the 2nd Annual Huna BIF - still posting ticks from Huna and adding stuff up. Hope to announce the winner Monday
Good Idea. Reusing language: #CIF Rules... To keep the momentum going for the #CIF (Cushion It Forward), bridging the gap to the next round, here is this standard language: Invite list: Obviously anyone in the Newbie BIF is encouraged to participate. I'll open this up to lurkers as well. The only requirement is at least 5 trades and 100% feedback. In the spirit of the Newbie BIF anyone with less than 5 trades or with less than 100% feedback is welcome to join with a veteran sponsor. Veteran lurkers are also welcome. I will ask that you only sign up if you are committed to keeping the #CIF going. The beer: In an effort to keep the #CIF moving along I'm going to limit the beer to a 6-8 bottle shipper with a range of 100 oz. to 152 oz. of 85+ Rated beer, or 4.1+ rAvg if there are too few scores for a rating. Beer must be from outside your target's distribution. How it works: If you want a chance at these red chair cushions all you have to do is send me a BM titled "#CIF I'm in!". Include your name, full shipping address (work or home?), phone number, email address, and your Untappd name (optional). (Or just let me know that your info on Slack is up to date). Let me know about any shipping date restrictions and style preferences. I'm going to close signups at 7PM EST on Saturday, March 25th. Rather than announce the recipient I will ninja the box out. The lucky BA who is surprised by Chad's cushions will add their BA handle and location to the cushions with a permanent marker. At this point the sign ups will start over and anyone who hasn't received the #CIF box is eligible. If we get to a point where no one signs up then I will pick a target at random! Good luck!
#GIF time! Due to the overwhelming interest shown to @sembo for the last round of Growler It Forward (I was the only one that signed up), I have made the executive decision to make this round a #NinjaGIF! Consider yourself a target if you: A) Are currently active (in the last month or so) on BA/Slack B) Have yet to sign this leaky growler C) Were not at Hunahpus Day Box heads out today!
I think the idea when no one signs up, you send the box back to its original owner. Which was @Greeny87 I believe.
Alright Newbies. It's been a solid week or so since Huna and I'm finally rested and back to normal! Here is how the LIF went >>>> 1) Flight number was 743 2) Golf went 81, 76, 75 = 232 3) Total handshakes I think were 12 Newbie, 8 SWer and 5 Local? = 25 final answer 4) Unique on Untappd was 116 5) OSU shirts were 64, mostly in the Columbus airport but I did see 6 in FL 6) Total beer here was 108, best guess 7) Didn't think that the license plate would be all letters so 0x32= 0 here 8) Waited 98 minutes to get in but was up front 9) Drove 246 miles 10) Longest line was 25 minutes I come up with a total of 1657. @jonbonfondle with a great guess, only 120 ticks off but @HeartofMiami looks to be the big winner with the guess of 1546, only 111 ticks away. I won't send you Huna because I assume you have plenty but expect a ton of beer soon How many beers? Not enough man, not enough!
A box appeared on my porch on Thursday from @Doogflaggat . I had no idea what it was until I opened it up and found out that its the #PIF. Andy loaded it up with some pretty heavy hitters. The Pizza Boy Crowlers are both gone... and were amazing. Since Friday was St. Pattys Day, I figured Pleepleus could enjoy a night out on the town. Pleepleus enjoyed a Irish Car Bomb to cap off the night. He'll be headed to some local breweries in the neat future and then off to another unsuspecting individual.
@MTKATL dropped a surprise box on me earlier this week with some awesome beers: Been eyin' Tropicalia and Koko Buni for a long time now, missed BA Bible Belt in my area, we didn't get any distro of the Creature Comforts / Modern Times collab, or of the Westbrook/EvilTwin one, all around an awesome and unexpected box. Thank you!!!
