Am I supposed to have a crew??...

***MWM SEEKING BEER CREW*** I like short walks into brewpubs, camping out for whalez, neckbeards, peeps who bring me 75 crowlers, and I love to laugh. I have a drinking problem in that I can't all the time. I don't care about color, height, or weight however that said I do prefer a bomber over 12 oz. Preferably you live really far away, like California or New England, and still believe Darkness is a must-have.

Good luck to you and your crew, I hope you find more people just like you to make your crew even better.

I'm an asshole and I drove around a lot, which means my "crew" deserved this stuff more than others because we have some stupid Facebook group and we "requested" stuff [/QUOTE]

Jeez, people are piling on this guy. Doesn't look like he broke any rules. There were no limits at the taproom, they allowed him to buy 75 crowlers. The brewery thanked him (or beer geeks in general) in a public FB post for crying out loud. There was still 20-something left over for locals that hadn't already gotten there. He didn't make a profit on it - probably lost money when factoring in gas. Are people just butthurt because they weren't in the crew that got some crowlers?

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with what he did. In fact, if one of you was to post that you were driving up to Perham on a crowler run and you were taking orders, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on it, and I would thank you. If I ever drive all the way up there, I'm absolutely going to be taking orders from friends.

Dude jumped on here with an attitude and the practice of buying up most of a brewery or stores supply is generally thought to be selfish and a dick move. Why don't you ask to be part of his crew if you don't have any problem with his practices?

Thanks @Bignaners , I thoroughly enjoyed the Stupid good, so did the 3 friends that have never had it before. How dare you do such a kind gesture and share great beer with other like minded individuals.

When it is only for that one person. Sounds like a lot of people got some crowlers. I brought 4 cases of TG hops back from a recent release and sold them (for just a bit over what I paid) to a couple dozen people that otherwise wouldn't have gotten them. Sure, I didn't take 75% of what they had, but it still involves spreading the wealth to a lot of folks.

A "dick move" would be to come back to a brewery in disguise to cheat your way around a bottle limit. If anyone should be the target of ire here, it should be the brewery for not imposing a bottle limit. This guy broke no rules.

Far beyond the point that this dude did this at basically cost and helped a TON of people out...He also didn't buyout all the crowlers from my understanding so I don't even understand who is getting "hurt" by this??? I have a buddy up there right now bringing me back some Stupid Good Crowlers so I know they aren't sold out???

I kinda figured most were ripping on the guy for the "my crew is better than yours" comment rather than the buying them up, seems like he did somewhat of a good deed distributing them the way he did. If I had driven all the way up there and missed out because of it then I might be singing another tune.

IMO the only thing the brewery did wrong was post that one person bought 75 crowlers. I was there on Sunday afternoon and there were still 20 or so left. No one else was there buying crowlers besides me. So with out this guy buying the 75 the brewery would have been sitting on 95 crowlers. When Stupid Good starts selling out in a couple hours, then they need to impose limits, but not until then...

There are no rules against a lot of things that one shouldn't do.

Again, this is a debatable point. But imagine you went into Zipps & they just received a shipment of 50 bottles of Assassin & had placed no limit on it. You buy 40. Dick move, or OK because "no rules" & you wanted to spread them around to your "crew"?

You might feel this is fine. I don't. Not only that, but I've heard some pretty good whoppers from people who were "spreading the wealth" when they were, in fact, being greedy pig-heads. Not saying this is the case here, but it's happened often enough in the past.

Anyways, I have no dog in this fight, I just hope I'm not in line behind this guy once I finally get to the brewery.

I think the only reason he had an attitude is because some people jumped down his throat calling him an asshole without even knowing the whole story. Sounds like he's actually a really nice guy. I'd be a little pissed too if I were him. Some may say it's kind of an asshole move to jump to conclusions and call others an asshole/dick before having all the facts. Fact is he broke no rules, made no money, and helped out a lot of people who don't have the time to drive to Perham. Oh and he left plenty behind for others. Sounds like a real asshole. Keep up the good work Bignanners!

On first thought, it sounds like a dick move to buy up 75% (or whatever) of a sought after beer. However, it seems to be in high demand in the cities, but not when sold in Perham. In this case, it looks like someone distributed and sold the beer for Disgruntled at no charge.

If these were selling rapidly and someone purchased that many, I don't care who they are going to, it's a dick move. Though, I would imagine if this were the case, Disgruntled would have a limit on them.

All jokes aside, I think it's much ado about nothing. I think he does sound like a cool guy. Now if he was doing this every day or weekly to line his pockets, that's another thing. The crew thing is just a little levity- and on that note, please stop blowing up my inbox with crew offers. I have already chosen the East Side Payne Relievers, and that tattoo ain't coming off with soap and water so I'm sorta pot committed at this point.
