If you remove the wax right, there's none left to worry about. If you're worried, a ziptie does a great job of securing it.

Duct tape encapsulated by hot glue helps in conjunction with the zip tie.

Anyone opened many of their Sucres recently? I tried to polish off a Sucre - Rum over a few nights this week and have found it super sweet/boozy and not holding up well at all.

That sounds like a definition of the beer in general.

Perhaps, I feared my tastes have changed rather than the beer so I was curious if others had done recent openings of it.

I put a rubber band around the stopper and it seems to help hold the stopper on there pretty well, even for non Bruery bottles. Then I bury it in my backyard and pour concrete on top. Still has carb the next day.

I opened my Sucre Madeira the other day and it was excellent. A little sugary/burnt sugar-type of flavor.. You RUM edition may have added to the sweetness but the wine barrel treatment of mine added a nice layer of tannin.

That's because the glass itself is significantly more expensive on those bottles.

Absolutely agree. I have never gone through a bottle in less than three days and much prefer the glass on day 3 to that on day 1.

Interesting. Maybe it creates an accelerated aging effect. 3 days open in the fridge develops the beer to taste similar to what it would be after 3+ years aging in the cellar.

This joke is good, but your delta is off by a factor of 5, which is large enough in this case. My local Bevmo had 12oz at $13 and 22oz at $17 (of Bravo)

    13/12 = $1.083
    17/22 = $0.772

Thats a 40% increase in per oz price. Putting that in perspective, a $30 750ml bottle of BT would become a $21 375ml bottle, the range that we make fun of Lost Abbey for all the time.

bravo was never released in 22s

anyway your joke is good too. your getting ***** on the 12oz. your using the most expensive price for it. i can do the same thing with the cheapest i've found it. costco 7.99

    7.99/12=$0.665833333333333
    17/22=$0.772

    holy shit, it's cheaper!

    :grinning:

I think it's kinda like the idea that red wine has to "breathe" a little for the best flavors to come out to their fullest. Also, it drops the level of carbonation a bit which might have an effect on our taste perception.

Or it could just all be in our heads, that's a thing too.

That math makes no sense since the 22oz was based off Bevmo prices and the 12oz was based off Costco prices.

ok i got parabola at that same costco for 14.99

    7.99/12=0.665833333333333
    14.99/22= 0.681363636363636

    hmmm what's going here lol

the original math was done using msrp from the brewery itself. i really don't think i've been paying that much more per oz. i too was skeptical. but i've found i've drank more bravo and plan to drink a lot more parabola due to the size honestly

at first it appears fw is charging more but in all honesty i think they did it right.

Mash and French Toast is damn tasty. If I didn't have so much damn beer I'd have bought more

The French toast is my favorite of the Mash series, had it on tap several times. Haven't opened a bottle though. Would be interesting if it tastes even better after its aged for a year or two.
