    Tasting is over, but my supply of maibocks is still in good standing. I didn't buy singles of anything; six packs of everything, so I still have plenty to enjoy. Right now, I'm having one of the Summit Maibocks. Prost!

    Was there any signs of diacetyl in the Capital? This used to be my all-time favorite Maibock, but they've had some quality issues in the past couple years that keeps me from picking up a six-pack.

    I drank through a 6-pack and I didn't notice any flavors indicative of diacetyl

    I didn't detect any (but I'm not a trained beer judge, either, so slight diacetyl would probably get past me). Tell you what... I have another tonight and let you know! :slight_smile:

    Well, because of YOU! I opened one of my remaining Capital Maibock's a few minutes ago.... no butter, no slickness, so I guess, no diacetyl... just deliciousness! (and, thanks, for giving me a reason... not that I needed one!) :wink:

    Thought I'd weigh in and say that the two I've had so far have had no diacetyl either. Both were very good. I'm sure my taste buds have changed a bit and my memory may be a tad foggy, but I think this beer used to have a greater hop presence than what it's had in the last 5+ years.

    Hey @steveh Dovetail is releasing a maibock - you should take a Saturday trip down and try it once its on tap. I've heard only good things about Dovetail so far.

    Don't forget that the brewery has gone through a few changes over that time -- I think it's on its second brewmaster since Kirby left.
    I can't remember how I first heard about Dovetail, but I'm very interested to try their beers.

    The Aldi near us didn't have it yesterday. It may be coming in this weekend. I'm looking out for it weekly.

    Rahr & Son's hopefully will release their maibock soon, Bucking Bock. There was a scare thinking they may have discontinued it to replace it with an IPA. But I've heard that they should have brewed some this year.

    Then I'll be tapping mine soon. I may have to do a 3 way taste test if I can.
