Fonta flora seems to be getting the other breweries to donate to the charity still.

Haw River is still donating to the charity,

also it's 2017 and "skinny jean wearing" is still an insult? Wew lads.

I'm not sure about the skinny jean comment, but I'm pretty confident "self righteous ass bags" would be considered an insult to some folks.

Call it a hunch but I am near certain that most (probably all) of those who said they will not participate understand the magnitude of that decision given charity side of the event. Accordingly, I am sure they will do something to rectify that matter and then some. Now... where the hell are those Levi 550's?

With the $70 million Wicked Weed made maybe they could cover the loss of those breweries from their event.

Do you have a source for the 70mil? Just curious.

We are a completely different brewery and are no closer to Perennial than we are to any other STL brewery. I used to work there, but Side Project and Perennial are and have always been completely separate breweries.

@coryking thanks for the clarification. I knew the two breweries were no longer related in any way, just figured you'd probably come from a similar mindset and might end up making a similar decision. No slight was intended in either direction; like I said, I just found it interesting.

I'm really interested in what Fonta Flora and Burial are going to do. I thought I read they both pulled out but then saw earlier today that had not.

I'm not sure about Burial, but I'm pretty positive that Fonta Flora won't be there. I know FF is also reaching out to all of the other breweries who pulled out to still make a donation to the Eblen Charity in some form, as well as any patrons who are no longer going.

100% of the profits are going to charity, not the proceeds.

Interestingly Wicked Weed was scheduled to have beer at Sharpen the Blades, Burial's saison festival that was this weekend. No WW there though. Don't know if its because Burial pulled it because they didn't want WW beer around, or if they just didn't want the festival to devolve into a WW-discussion, or what.

Fonta Flora will not be there... Sara posted on our society board a definitive Fonta Flora will not be at the WW Invitational.

I hate the thought that we will not be having an epic Sour Beer event in Asheville. Say what you will, but WW was the driving force behind Sour Beers in the South East and perhaps the entire Eastern sea board. Which, for me, is why this In-Bev move so difficult to deal with.

Meh. Fonta Flora festival is epic sour and a lot of fun too! Sure it wouldn't have the line up this originally did. But still good. Hate I'll be missing it this year.
