Heard form my local store person that the rumor they heard it is being held back at the warehouse because there is still a ton of unsold Citrusinensis.

Seems like a heckuva way to celebrate a beer base on freshness....

In terms of Citrusinesis, Selling a single beer as a 12 pack only option is a mistake. That was the main reason I didn't purchase any of it.

My thoughts exactly. Which is really unfortunate because that beer is delicious.

That's the reason for every delayed release with that distributor. It blows my mind breweries don't have issues with it or haven't given them a harsh talking to.

Yeeeeeah. I'm calling BS on this. Maybe for a smaller company, but for a national (now global) brand like Lagunitas?? I seriously doubt it.

I believe Born Again Yesterday is packaged the same way.

I mean, if they forgot to submit label approval in time I could totally see it. The government moves pretty damn slow as you know Tony. I do know about 3 weeks ago they said they were hoping to sell through Citrusisnensis before they got to Born Yesterday, but 2 weeks ago I was told they finally did so other than label approval not sure what the other hold up would be.

The longer this beer is delayed, the better. Hopefully it never comes.

Stop being so optimistic. It'll show up. Lots of it.

Sit it on the shelves next to Footwood, Lizurd of Cud and Mango Magnifican't.

I find it so interesting that some of these stores (or maybe regions) people are seeing so many bottles sitting on the shelves. In a state and a half across many stores I have only seen Lizard of Koz in one, Mango in 2 or 3, and frootwood in None. In fact, I haven't seen frootwood since around the time of KBS.

I am sure it is mostly about quantities received, but I find it interesting that there are such vast differences between Indiana and Ohio.

My point was, I sincerely doubt a brewery like Lagunitas just "forgets" to submit paperwork. They likely have an entire department handling these things and making sure all ducks are in a row for label approval and beer registration for each state and country they sell beer into.
My guess what that angle is a BS coverup, intentional or not, for the real issue.
The idea that they (or their wholesaler) are waiting for another item to sell thru is totally plausible. Happens all the time.

I don't know if we got a lot in Columbus but these beers really seemed to have sold poorly. I think Frootwood is mostly gone now though.

Those three beers really show something about Founders. They know all anybody wants is more CBS. They have the barrels, as evident by Koz and Frootwood. But instead of making more CBS they put gross fruited weirdness in em.

They know they need CBS to be rare.

Koz and Fruitwood are from the KBS barels that went to Maple that then had Koz and Fruitwood (respectively) inserted? I was not aware of that.

I live in an area of the city that doesn't get the greatest distribution and we still have Koz sitting on the shelf at Giant Eagle.

They are some manner of their maple bourbon barrels.

Just checked - That looks correct for Frootwood, but not for Lizard of Koz. I think only Frootwood is.

Frootwood was aged in BLISS barrels - bourbon, then maple syrup, then beer. CBS is the same.

Koz was just bourbon barrels. KBS is the same.

I bet CBS will be in similar quantities as KBS/Froot/Doom. I really hope that last CBS release (2015 as draft only) shows they won't bottle it unless there is "enough" to go around. However, I bet there will be mass hoarding, bullshit sales practices (buy a 15 pack of All Day to get in a raffle for a $15 12oz bottle), and tons of bitching from entitled retailers and consumers. It'll look like it's more "rare" than it actually is, and it'll again be a shot of poison into a toxic market fueled on hype and rarity.

I'll be on the sidelines drinking a Bodhi.

I remember the "first" CBS bottling, Weiland's was getting it at like 1:30 pm and a group of us (I'd say ~10 people) started lining up at the counter around 11:30 or noon? And I remember thinking THAT was kind of crazy, I cannot even imagine what this next release will be like.
