Update: Slurm grew on me and I think it is delicious, especially at the price point.

    Oops.

Did they cut Critterless off this years release schedule? If so I am gonna be so disappointed....

I will definitely buy a sixer or two of Melt My Brain in cans. Maybe my favorite Short's beer? Tough call against Hopstache.

But I refuse to buy any I Got Five On It in protest of the fact that Pineapple Pilsner didn't win. Shorts excels in the non-sour fruit beer game, imho, and that's one hell of a missed opportunity.

Thanks Tripel_Threat! Marketing made a mistake on the social media post, and it's now corrected. The hops are Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe, Amarillo and Summit. (Some of my favorite hops at the time of making the recipe about 4 years ago). Cheers, hope everyone enjoys!

Passing adjustment on the beer, not the beer drinker, the beer drinker is in fact free to drink all the zima beer he wants and I will think none the less of him.

Holy crud, are all Australians as serious and uptight as you? I was just having fun with some zima beer.

But unless you have actually tried the beer, how does it "sound like Zima"? Was/is Zima a golden ale based lime/juniper/tonic beer?

Wtf is even being argued here?

Having had both Zima and Melt My Brain, I can assure you that it's ridiculous to suggest they might taste the same. Even moreso from someone who hasn't had both.

I hearby publicly apologize to any sensitive beeradvocates that were shaken and upset by my public declaration that the Melt My Brain description sounded Zimaesque.

I take full responsibility for my statement and promise to never compare a beer that tastes like a gin and tonic to a malt beverage that tastes like a gin and tonic again.

Except Melt My Brain doesn't taste a whole lot like a gin and tonic, its way more lime forward than any gin and tonic ever made, and its lime forward in a refreshing I want to crush this beer kind of way. The juniper/tonic are merely notes in the background.

Holy crud. Don't be mad at me because the description states it tastes like a gin and tonic and you find it to be too lime forward

Maybe call Joe and talk to him.

I already apologized for zima gate, I am moving on

We really do need to get back to being angry about getting screwed out of a Pineapple Pilsner release.

My objection is this: why have a vote, if the Brewer is going to come on BA and tell people how to vote. Then, every time the unfavorable beer gets ahead, the Brewer's choice mysteriously gets a ton of votes.

Beer News! Per Short's FB page, Citra Local's is coming to a Busch's near you*!

    Description from Short's portfolio page:

"Citra Locals still our light and very tasty lager, but with a fun new twist. Bursting with fresh grapefruit aromas and complimentary hop flavors are perceived within, but without any imparted bitterness. The light pilsen malt creates a soft and subtle flavor profile that finishes crisp and clean, once the initial hoppy perceptions subside."

*provided you live near a Busch's in SE MI.
