In fairness "HB is lying" "HB sucks" and "You're out of your mind (for liking HB)" isn't adding much to the discussion. I'm all for the sharing of opinions, and I don't think anyone has a problem when someone else doesn't like a beer or even brewery, but it's a little tedious when every time someone mentions Hop Butcher, the follow up is "HB is garbage." It's perfectly cool if you actively hate their beer, but no reason to hate on other people for feeling differently about it.

There are plenty of breweries I'm not particularly fond of, but I don't spend my time clogging the threads they pop up in by constantly dissing on them.

At least when people were talking about Transient and JIL they had legit complaints about price instead of "LOL they suck!!!"

I've stated more than a few absolutely legit complaints on here about Hop Butchers offerings and their marketing. As have many others. Picking and choosing the few content`less comments I've made isn't entirely fair.

As I stated before I'm not trolling. I didn't realize how sensitive people were about beer, its fucking beer. I won't be mentioning HB again don't worry boys.

Or there is a very real possibility that our tastes differ (what a shocker). Honestly what was the last HB beer you drank? All anyone sees you do is sit around and talk shit about them.

Reply Hazy and Galaxy Bowl are top notch NE IPA's. As good as anything else people fawn over.

SFR, Blazed Orange, Destination Moon, IWTB are all excellent beers in their own right.
Columbian Exposition is the best new coffee stout ive had in recent memory.

Your hate for them is not justified and you need to get over your self.

I didn't have it. I liked Reply Hazy though, and some people hated it, so I'm guessing I'd have liked Mellotron too.

I have no skin in this game, but I will say I completely disagree about GB being one of the best from Chicagoland. I was not a fan. But I did like Mellowtron as well.

That said, I'm enjoying a Radio Swan right now, and it tops Snoochie Boochies for me as the best Forbidden Root NEIPA. Wasn't sure how the rye would work, but I'm a fan.

Exactly. You can hate the beer, but at least be constructive. If you are going to say something is garbage, back it up with why you feel that way. We don't have to agree, but at least it's a thoughtful perspective. Don't hate on the users, you don't have to agree with them, but I get sick of the name calling, beer mule/reseller/blackmarket profiteering accusations and the terming people trolls. Not necessary.

Based on BJ's statement that Radio Swan would be for people that thought Stay Lit was too sweet (me), I was pretty curious about that one. Hope it holds a few more days.

Also, disagree on GB? GOOD DAY TO YOU, SIR
*I've only had the first and latest canned batches, so can speak for no other version*

Reply Hazy definitely looked the part, but I got a big "Belgian-y" flavor out of it that completely turned me off. I wanted to like it, but I ended up trading 6 cans of it for a Morning Fog 4-pack.

Mellotron was just a mess IMHO. It smelled great, but the hops were immediately covered up by a huge Belgian, malty taste making it an instant drain pour for me.

I stopped buying most of their beers after those two. That being said, they crushed it with some other offerings: Destination Moon, Unwind Your Mind, and I Want To Believe were incredible to me. I've caught some grief for saying this, but if Destination Moon 4-packs were available year-round, they'd definitely replace my cravings for NvU and Navaja that I get.

I'm no longer much of a fan of the Butcher boys, but Galaxy Bowl batch 1 was a truly glorious beer; perhaps a top 3 NE IPA (including the big boys) I've ever had.

Children napping is a good thing. I took my brief freedom to go check out The Beer Cellar in Glen Ellyn to grab something for a BBQ at my friend's tonight. I was rewarded with a pour of Say Uhh! First time on one of Mike's beers. Really enjoyed it and look forward to trying more in the future. Also grabbed a bottle of V5 and some Cirrus. Tuesday afternoon at the in-laws just got waaaay better. Cool place, good guys in there.

Flame away. I will preface by saying I did not have GB #1. I had GB #2. Took a few sips and drain poured it. The Belgian in it was disgusting to me. Bought my drinking buddy a 4 pack and didn't say anything to him. He did the same thing.......drain pour. It's an amazing looking beer but the taste was way off for me. To each their own.

Everyone in this thread (I think) who's had the second batch seems to feel that way, so I don't think that's a very flame-worthy opinion. :stuck_out_tongue:

There was a vast chasm between batch 1 & batch 2 IMO.

I was told by my server on sunday that it would be tomorrow at 5, but he also said there would be an email blast, so maybe it got pushed back? I'm definitely trying to make it for some cans.

It was originally posted in their IG post I think, but I just searched their posts and don't see it. I'm thinking maybe they deleted it - that kind of syncs up with your comment about it possibly being pushed back.
