Finished up a road trip to CO earlier this week. You folks have a really great beer scene... as a huge IPA fan I appreciate all of the contributors to this thread, as you pointed me towards several brewers doing great things.

    My favorites:
    1) Weldwerks. Just give me all of it. Juicy Bits, Robot, Fruity Bits, Alpha Bots, Coffee Maple, Salted Caramel... heck even Extra Extra Juicy Bits . A standout among an impressive crop.
    2) Odd13. Really distinct hop profiles across multiple IPA's. These guys know how to pack a beer with hops.
    3) Melvin. Technically WY, but I found and drank them in CO. Then bought more.

Regrets: I had only 3 days, and didn't get a chance to try anything from Comrade or Cerebral, nor Juicy Banger. Didn't get to Falling Rock either, nor any other taphouses.

Also visited industry stalwarts Avery and Oskar Blues. Avery was very interesting. Love their space, and the huge Avery only taplist.

U probably didn't get to try the riipa melvins but they are suppose to be delivering a good quantity in fall .. asterisk !

Palate fatigue is real. I'm surprised you guys made it that far in. I learned real quick that placing in a flight was important in the ipa category when I send in my homebrew. The only gold I ever won was with a pale ale that was first in the flight. Was that beer the best in the flight? I doubt it. Was it full of citra hops that coated your taste buds with catty mango goodness? You bet.

The pours were small (and we dumped anything that wasn't noteworthy), but by the end it felt like everything was very, very similar. Doing it in stages might produce different results, but we weren't really shooting for preference anyway.
I made some small notes along the way and I definitely enjoyed Elevated, Hop Sequence, 2x4, Epic Day, and Strange Claw. At least 2 beers (that I won't name) had technical flaws. 2-3 others I simply didn't enjoy. The rest were varying levels of "good." Worth noting, at least 3 of us were able to pick S26 Juicy Banger out by taste alone. I found that interesting how distinct it was...and how it did have plenty of "juicy" notes even in a pool of many others.

What order was juicy banger? I agree that it definitely has a unique profile

Can we talk about the absolute treat Alpha Bots is? I think it is the best IPA on at WW right now and far eclipses Robot Librarian.

It was the last beer, which is why I found that especially noteworthy. It isn't my favorite IPA or anything, but there's something distinct about it. I figured it was just me, but 3 of us guessed that specifically. I had strong guesses about a couple others (and was right a time or two) but that's the only one I felt certain of...and I don't know why. It's also a beer I feel that has changed a few times since they released it, too. Maybe it's the yeast or something in the process? I honestly have no idea, but something about it is different.

Agree it's fantastic. Me and a buddy had it at the Robot release at Odd 13 and both of us liked it quite a bit better than Robot. It was also the first keg to kick that day.

I'm not surprised that juicy banger or superpower got notes for being juicy or hazy. Those late hops really shine, ya know?

Earlier I had tree house bright .. followed by alter ego .. then I had citradamus followed by port hop 15 in sixteen ounce can .. perfect way to consume for my pallet .. I haven't had treehouse in over yr but the coli scene is holding its own .. I had weldwerks .. odd 13 and 4 noses and they are just as good depending on ur mood so props to all mountain region breweries

Hell yeah CO hops are top tier right now IMO. I was at Weldwerks on Friday, then Monkish Saturday so I think it's fair to compare notes between the two. Both were amazing, but Weldwerks is so easily available and so good, there is no point in trading for the Monkish. If I lived in LA I would say the reverse obviously, but the point is, we aren't lagging in the hop game, we're among the best in the pack.

I also had it at odd 13 that day and it was definitely my favorite. Robot is tasting great right now though after a couple weeks settling in the can. I wish I didn't live 2+ hours from Weldwerks!

I brew Wyoming style IPA then? I'm confused I'm from so cal a brought all those beers with me to Melvin. We all are doing bombass shit. Good to see so many great beers being made. But we are on the west coast of Wyoming so there's that.
