Good morning. Just finished a short run, was blind sided by an actual Labor Day race on my trail I didn't know was happening lmfao. Picked up some Oktoberfest, since it's actually September now, and some bacon, whipping up some pancakes while enjoying the first bottle of the year. :beers:

Mrs. Z is worried about Hurricane Irma, so I've spent the morning cleaning RV so as to possibly depart tomorrow...I need a beer:

Cheers from what appears to be a stunningly beautiful SWFL!

Been binge-watching Narcos season 3 - whatta great show - every bit as good as the first two seasons, with a shift in focus of course, but I don't want to spoil - I'll say this though - there's gonna be a season 4 - ugh! I don't know if there's a cliffhanger coming my way (I'm about halfway through), but damn... Even that brief Amazon Prime series, The Tick, hit me with a cliffhanger - are you kidding me? I look to these shows for some relief, y'know? lol

Guess that's just the way, eh? Guardians of the Galaxy has a third installment coming, too, in like, 2020 - and that's just this iteration of the team - I thought the Marvel Cinematic Universe was gonna get wrapped up with Avengers Infinity War in 2019, but no - that's just the end of "phase 3" with "phase 4" leading into a another 10 years of films - geez! lol

    No end in sight...

Last night watched Split with the missus - I wasn't interested in watching, but I didn't walk away once it started. McAvoy is pretty great...

Apparently, and while by no means a sequel, Split is gonna tie the narrative from Shyamalan's Unbreakable (a film from 2000 that I really dug)...

...to a forthcoming (third) film called Glass, probably coming out in 2019...

Seems like the entertainment industry's keeping busy, too...

I got up early and ran an easy 4, hit Panera for coffee and a breakfast sammie. It's time for a patio beer on a comfortably warm breezy morning. I have a strong family history with various labor unions and was taught about the struggle for workers rights at a young age. Many lives were lost paying the freight for much of what we still enjoy today. Don't ever give it up! Take a moment to reflect today. Cheers people......

A side note about the beer bottled 15 NOV 13....
I'm surprised by the coffee still hanging around. Some nice bourbon too, but there is a trace of oxidation with a slight wet cardboard taste in the finish. Still pretty good overall.

Having Cuvée des Trolls. No Labor Day here today, only in the sense that everybody just had to go to work this Monday .

I now understand why @JakeScully is about the only one posting about this beer (besides me); rare around here but France is about the largest export destination for Cuvée des Trolls

I was away last weekend and only saw some fragments of BA, sorry if I missed anything.

    Cheers!

And how does it taste? As you know I own the small Cuvée des Trolls tulip.

    Glad it made your way.

Finishing up two days of indoor / outside heavy cleaning. Almost done, I'm sweaty and a simple ice cold Bud works for right now. I'm often amused at the venom thrown at AALs in general, they have their place, they don't pretend to be something they're not, but they're far from lousy, and it's not "bad" beer. I've had bad beer I know what it is, I question those that call these bad beers, it makes me wonder if theyve ever had a truly crappy beers that's a drain cleaner.

An appearance of clear gold with brunished hints when held to the sunlight. Moderate cap and lacing.

Aroma is first of malt, sweet malt, followed by a hint of spicy hops. Nice scent.

Taste is straightforward sweet malt, clean and relatively simple, but certainly malt. Hops interplay like a lightly spiced dish which is to say they're there but in the background. There's enough malt flavor to push it ahead of the usual AAL Amber brews without becoming sticky or heavy feeling. Finishes quick with a pleasant malt aftertaste. Overall this is an easy drinking brew with much to recommend it.

I've seen the glass. And in fact I had a first taste of Cuvée des Trolls last year from a glass like that in Belgium (Les Ardennes). Later I picked up a bottle when I was south of the border again. And now I found one here. I'll definitely buy it again when I see it

What I like in this beer is it's freshness (some carbonation, fruity etc) and rather some depth in taste at the same time. This is wonderful summer beer. Still remember my first taste after a days march in the late fall rain. That was not a great times for this beer
    Cheers!

For what budweiser is, and people can knock the use of rice to find a cheap way to boost the abv and keep production cost low all they want, Bud is a clean beer. People may not like it. But theres plenty of craft thats awful. We used to do off flavor spiking to coors light at Backward Flag because coors was the cleanest and lightest of any beer. Cheers.
