What beer are you drinking now? #1787

Seeing those red peppers reminds me of a story. Kinda long so I do not blame you if you do not read it.

Years ago, my work buddies and I went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. My buddy wanted the hottest dish they made. The waiter, who spoke broken English, said he grew his own red peppers that were atomic. Gave us a sandwich baggy with a few in it.

Well, I cut mine into small pieces using my hand and a knife. Hot. Went to the men's room to take a whiz and discovered I should have washed my hands first before touching my junk. Talk about burn, pain, and tears. A lesson I will never forget.

 

The last batch of Chille I made I cut my habaneros bare handed and my finger tips burned for 2 days. Gonna cook another batch tonight.

I once went to this event in Santa Cruz catered by a dude named Pepper John. He had some "hot peppers" on the menu, and I ribbed him about them being pretty mild. He told me to meet him out back.

In the parking lot, he opens the trunk of his station wagon and pulled out his "special knife" and "special cutting board." I should have walked away right then, but was already committed.

He tells me he bred his own pepper that he claims is hotter than anything out there. He cuts off a tiny slice about the size of an eyelash and picks it up with a toothpick. It's too small for the toothpick to penetrate, mind you, he sort of gets it to stick to the edge, and tells me to chew it between my front teeth for a second.

Lesson of that story: don't give a dude named Pepper John shit that his peppers ain't hot enough.

I was not going to bring up the subject but since you did, there must be a correlation between incoming heat and outgoing heat.

 

Im still trying to figure out how a high school team got into the Giants uniforms and took the field last night.

Last can of this. My guess is that if Veil brews it again, it will be called something like
Personvl Personvl Spvce DIPA instead of Personvl Spvce DIPA. Not that I am complaining

At Bare Hands Brewery in Granger just outside of South Bend, this is Drain The Swamp, a hop bomb of a NE-style DIPA. The taste is on point with dank, juicy hops, and the feel is perfect - nice prickly bite. Love it.
