Got this Pale 31 California Pale Ale in the Firestone Walker hoppy 12 pk and wasnt expecting to like it that much. Its a good pale ale, one of the best ive ever had. Really smooth, flavorful, not watered down, not too hoppy.

FW Easy Jack session ipa. ive had this before and wasnt too impressed but im guessing it was a freshness thing becuz this is a really good beer at the moment, canned about 3 weeks ago. Fruity, Good hop flavor. Better than expected. This hoppy 12 pack is a winner.

    A few thoughts:

    1) I used to detest high ABV beers. They always tasted like alcohol bombs to me and I never got a good buzz because it was just too much too fast. But now I can drink 8.2% beers like this and they taste more and do give me a better buzz. But in general I prefer low ABV.

    2) I don't even know what my favorite style is anymore. I know what styles I hate, I just don't know what I love.

FW Union Jack ipa... Smooth, malty. Hint of sweetness to offset the hop bitterness and citrus. A bit sticky. Not as carbonated as easy jack. Flavorful without being heavy. Hides the 7.5 % abv well. Somewhat complex but easy to drink.

A buddy picked this up for me at a new brewery in Florence,SC Local Motive. The beer a NE IPA Northeast Kingdom, clocks in at 7% and is the best beer I have had from them so far. Looks like orange juice, smells like weed nice tropical mango and orange but still pretty hoppy and a nice bitter finish.

I thought to myself, this tastes like another beer I had recently. I couldn't put my finger on it. Then it dawned on me. It is a lighter version of Nimble Giant. Cheers!
