New Beer Sunday (Week 658)

Trifecta contribution, Stone's newest IPA. Vengeful Spirit.

Honestly for an entity that used to be proud to be too much to handle, this comes off as meek for my palate and preferences. Nose is mute, and taste follows suit in lack of dynamic attributes. Wish I'd bought 1 vs. 6. If this is one of the consolation prizes for no IRS and Double Bastard, log me into the severely disappointed category. Complete rating link, BA score = 3.69, rdev -8.9%.

Count me as a fan ... and I'm not kidding: One of my old fashioneds is getting beer poured into it sometime this fall. It has to happen at this point.

(look at perky alive LNNBS! too bad for me my fridge full of beer is full of boring OLD beer ... alls I can do is applaud and cheer from the stands )

 

My requirements for a good beer glass are:

1) feels good in the hand
2) feels good to drink from
3) holds beer well
4) convenient or fun

The ubiquitous drinking glasses in my house are convenient. I normally use those. My special beer glasses are fun. If I'm popping a cork, I'll normally use those.

My wife tends to view any of my special glasses as fair game for almost anything, so I've gotten to the point where I only keep two out now - a German half liter, and a Belgian tulip. Those two really cover almost any need along with the water glasses. I decided to pack the rest away (stange, chalice, willibecher, snifter, etc.), and will only take one out if I'm feeling the need.

I really like drinking beer from a coffee mug, so I'd like to get a dedicated small steinkrug at some point. I wish I still had some of my beer glasses that broke along the way.

 

I cannot wait to try that one.l I have had the honey and the juniper. So far I liked the honey better. Cheers!
