Women contribute to this by squatting to avoid sitting in hoppy BA piss, though, and add to the mess.

Oh, beer. So many tangents you lead us on.

I have no dogs in this fight, but this is one thing that caught my attention (and I'm not directing this toward you by any means). But I don't think drinking in line should be expected. I wish more places would not allow it. If they want to allow it, they should just make it a fest if feasible. I don't think it should be a given that drinking in line should be acceptable. Obviously, aside from the legal perspectives, I think it would help cut down on the lines in some cases. A line to get something to go should not be a party.

I particularly agree with this part. Not to mention it would cut down on amount of trash, need for even more porta potties and curb some of pissing all over the place.

Dark Lord Day bottle share... that's a different thing entirely.

I 100% agree. A few pages back, I noted how releases that allow sharing in line turn me off as I get older and it turned into a dumb back and forth of what constitutes an “event”.

I think we can all agree that when the line, “next time, more Porto potties would be helpful” is part of the conversation, we’re in a new tier.

IMO there is ZERO excuse for any garbage to not be IN (not next to) a trash can or for people to pee in the woods. If the line is long wait. If you cant, hold it (your an adult). You were in view of a porta potty the entire time you can see how long the lines were. If a trash can is full pack out your bottles. Its not difficult at all. We cleaned up a ton of trash walking back down the trail to our car. Some people need to get it together.

It's good to see I'm not the only one that thinks this way. Things like DLD, yeah makes perfect sense and the bottle sharing is part of the charm. A random Saturday morning in October at a release seems rather silly when you put it in context.

Basically, I think it's fairly easy to compartmentalize these things. Unfortunately, I don't think that's the majority opinion. Full disclosure, I've had little desire to go to MoRE (live in the city) for one of these releases, and I think whether I admit it or not, some portion of that decision has to do with not really caring for bottle shares unless they're at big events.

An event is Dark Lord; what isn’t an event is something that happens every 5 weeks. I think on the first page of this forum people were asking about drinking in line for the opening, saying how they used to do it at RAM. As stated then, it’s one thing to drink in a parking lot or industrial lark. It’s another to be getting drunk at 9AM on Main Street Villa Park or the prairie path. But maybe I’m just too old for this shit.

can't see the city of Villa Park putting up with this shit much longer. a couple of my buddies were telling me about all the trash everywhere and how neighbors to the path were very upset with the event.

    Brown Paper Tickets please.

yeah the way i see it there's about a 0% chance future releases will happen that way again.

The trash thing just reminds me what idiots we are. Most people who brought bottles and/or cans brought them in some sort of insulated container. It's not that hard to take empties back home with you in the same container and you can even make sure to recycle rather than adding more glass and aluminum to landfills. #Ecowarrior

Surprised to hear people complaining about the garbage on the trail. I was at the tail end of the line and was shocked how clean it was while moving to purchase bottles. I saw a random cup or two, but picked them up on my way. People seemed to be using the garbage cans. That last Ram bottle share on the other hand...

There was a post on Facebook by someone saying they saw a few employees from More including one of the owners out on the trail picking up garbage after the event, so not everyone picked up their stuff.

I know when we got there very early in the morning, there were a lot of neighborhood dogs barking in the area, and that went on non-stop for quite a while. So add in the left behind garbage and bottles on the trail, the guys pissing in the trees that backed up to a fenced yard, and not to mention all the pissed off looking people trying to use the trail that morning, and I think these events will need to go to BPT or some other ticketing system just to keep the neighbors happy.

Also, it would be one thing if this was once or twice a year.

I know there are a few things that happen in my area that annoy me, but I’ll deal with them and shrug them off knowing it’s once a year, and it brings joy to a lot of people.

If it was once every 6 weeks or so, you damn well better believe I’d be speaking up and complaining to the powers that be.

Not every local was pissed off with people on the trail. A runner kept running by for a swig of beer from our group. That was one cool dude. I know that's the minority, but some didn't mind the line on the path.

Agreed, walking up from about the #250 position, I saw a few bottle caps that were pressed into the ground and that was about it. I did see a broken bottle in the train station parking lot, however.

When we walked up there was one chair with a ton of empties by it. Other than that, there were very few empty bottles left around. Most of the stuff described above seems a bit overblown to me; I would be surprised if the other businesses care, I really doubt very many folks running or biking on the trail cared much (there was plenty of room and people generally stayed to the south side).

The one thing I'd see being a problem is the people that live there. No way the people who live real close are happy about the early noise. I do think MoRe is to the point that the next one of these deserves Brown Paper Tickets. I'm not sure if that cuts into taproom revenue or not - but frankly if they did tickets in a way where you were buying 1 or 2 bottles and also a 5 oz pour, I'd go and drink a few more beers.

Also, can't remember if I mentioned it here, but I really liked the Kolsch!

Is this really how they spell their name? I guess it stands out a bit but man, is that ugly to my eyes.
