What beer are you drinking now? #1832

Back home after long hikes through town, and a visit to the Royal Academy of Equestrian Artes to see the horse show and museum...wife was thrilled...my feet hurt...

A store brand beer brewed for the grocery I was at last night (Corivan) brewed by Font Salem in Valencia. A watery bland Euro Lager:

Deschutes - Black Butte Porter

 

Killing time at my favorite dive bar in Chesterton after dropping the mutts off at the groomers and squeezing in a quick run. Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest on tap? Hell yes!

 

Passchendaele, a Belgian Ale brewed by Castle Brewery Van Honsebrouck.

This beer was developed and intended to be as close as is possible to what soldiers would have drunk during the war. No such things like depth in taste, however a wonderful ale to enjoy on a peaceful evening.

Brotherton IPA. 6.6%

I remember the first time i met their owner. Worked in a liqour store he came in with a sixtel of this beer. Said something like hey im from brotherton, we are brand new, will you carry us? I told my boss we should do it and we tapped it later that week for the growler . It sold out weekly for about a year. Now i find cans. Its amazing to see their progression and ill be the first to say....

.....the best ipa in NJ.

Flying dog blood orange ale. First time trying this and it may be the last,just didn't work for me.

 

Bloodline is very acidic, thin and astringent. Not a fan either. The brewer in general i try everything

Born ten days ago, purchased today. That's how our distribution rolls! It looks, tastes and feels more NE than fresh hop. Those observations aside, it's a very good beer for the money.

 

Had to sip it again today.

 

I've stumbled into it tonight boys and girls. The first true beer bar I've found in Spain (Cerveceria Gorila) tonight is celebrating it's 30 year anniversary and the beer and snacks are flowing!

First up a Spanish made Belgian Dark - Pinonera Dark Belgian:



Nice for the style. Then the owner tells me he's tapped a keg of La Chouffe, and its buy one, get one free!

Oskar Blues - Death By Coconut

I don't even like coconut but this is delicious!

 

My first beer post surgery and my first Founders Breakfast Stout. I had an appendicitis and had appendectomy surgery on Sept. 29. A few weeks ago, I had my two week-post surgery followup and my surgeon told me I healed faster than she expected. I even got the ok to drink, but I chose not to because I needed to catch up on work. I feel great in fact, just like I did a few years ago when I lost 53 lbs.

I missed out on Breakfast Stout last year when Founders first entered the Seattle market. Last year, places sold out in hours, luckily this year, they ordered alot more and Founders sent more to this area. This is an amazing beer! The coffee and chocolate go so well together. I know believe in the hype to this beer! Probably a top 3 beer for me!

And a guy is cutting thin slices of ham off the bone, there is thin slices of sausage, cheese, bread, plates of nuts, chips, etc. Party!
