Go for it. I bought higher math with no idea what it was and it was interesting. Still have 3. I should toss one in the fridge tonight. It was a booze bomb but the cherry really came out as it warned up. I hope it toned down a bit.

Short story long...,,but then you might be surprised. Worst case you give a few away or let them age.

    Enjoy

Sounds like a Samichclaus, Barrel aged Austrian malt liquor. I'm excited to to try it.

I agree that it is similar to Samichclaus, but it is better because it isn't as sickly sweet.

Shit, send me some if ya'll don't want it! I bought all I could when it came out, no more to be found. If I could buy a case of it I would.

The more I drink this, the better I like it. Have bought two 4-packs so far.

...beer is straight antifreeze...just like the vodka...when we run out of vodka...

I am still seeing tons of 4 packs in my area so I grabbed one, definitely wanted to drink more of this and it's a good beer to age too so it can hang around for a while if I so desire.

I had one yesterday and it seems to be changing fairly quickly. The first one I had must have had some lingering bitterness, but now it was really sweet with a bourbon finish. Not a bad thing, but I preferred it fresh.

What region of the state are you in? It's been bone dry around here since about 2 weeks after release. So much so, I'm getting an uneasy feeling about getting Backwoods Bastard, or dare I say it, CBS.

Ah. I'm well north (NNE actually) of you in the middle of nowhere. I have to drive at least 30 minutes to find a decent selection of beer, more for specialty. It would be 2 hours give or take to get to your area. I suppose that's a perk of living in a higher population area. Then again, I do sometimes get down that way. Will have to check things out next time.

Well here is my take . . . I love BwB aged in bourbon barrels. But, I wonder where all of this barrel aging in the industry is going. If I want bourbon, I will have one. When I want beer, I will have one. If I want a beer and bourbon, I will have both, not together in the same glass. Malt liquor??? Ugh.

Ordered one of these on tap this past Friday night... whew doggy! I was not expecting it to be so good! With that said, I was one and done and moved on to some other Founders. (the bar I was at in Philly actually had over 15 different beers on tap from Founders). I did prefer DKML to Doom for what it is worth.

Can I change my mind. Had a Backwoods Bastard and forgot how much I like it. How about a bourbon barrel aged beer and a bourbon on the side.

Nothing I got too excited about on it's own, but with a 22 and my fellow travelers not up for more than a sip, I decided to add a dash of grapefruit juice to 8 oz glasses, a classy sidewalk slam! It was really great. I would highly recommend anyone who has maybe a bit more than they want to drink or who is just a bit more adventurous
