Have you seen it out there at that price? Ten was about 12-14 as I recall so that would be a steep markup for the BA considering the price difference on Darkness vs BA Darkness is usually only 2-3$ other than the shops gouging.

TW MG $19.99 only example I’ve seen

Maybe there is some trade value to the BA ten? I assume other states are not going to be getting any if at all similar to BA darkness.

Saw it at $18.99 and $19.99 today.

I'd assume the opposite. IIRC, BA Darkness was sent to Chicago, so I wouldn't expect BA Ten to be any different. But there haven't been many BA Surly beers since they've radically expanded distribution, so who knows.

Just got home from Zipps after a visit to Surly for a darkness 10oz’r.

Saw and/or grabbed PB bandit, “new recipe” hooey with some new $20k fancy equipment change, CD mosaic IPA singles, 10/17 abrasive,Odell whiskey BA Lugene but passed at $8.99/bottle

Ouch, would like to try it but that price makes it a bit hard.

And thus ends one more line of idle speculation.

Excited to try this "New" revamped Hooey. 2 weeks ago the Hooey I got from Zipps I was not impressed with at all. It was IMHO very harsh and overly malty for some reason.

They continually nail it (for my palate) with blissful and continually miss with hooey (in cans). Not sure what it is but haven’t loved a canning of hooey I’ve had yet. Super different from on tap so I’m also curious if this new version is up to par.

Nope, it’s not! Maybe too fresh in cans (dated 10/26), but did side by side last night w growler from the brewery I’d picked up on Sunday and it was night and day. Can was no nose, no taste - just meh. Growler was amazing as usual! So bizarre.

Funny, according to a certain FB Beer page Hooey is the best canned IPA in MN.

Personally, I like Hooey on tap. It's good but not OMFG what did my taste buds go swimming in?! I can't justify the price tag for the cans so I've never had it in cans yet(more so out of principle).

Bliss on the other hand.. Tastes beautiful in cans. Unless it was canned the day before.

After having the magnificent 2014 Double Barrel Gravity Well at a tasting, cleared my schedule to get to the release in November 2016 & grabbed a bottle of each of last year's releases. Horribly disappointing. The base beer was a charred mess, & the only one worth drinking was the scotch version, mostly because the spirits were strong enough to mostly cover up the failure of the base beer.

If anyone goes, please report back. With the promise held out by the 2014 bottle, I'm hoping Insight can get it right this year.

Ive gone both years the 2014 was great. Still have not opened the 2015 (2) bottles. It really sound like you hated (last years offering) sorry to hear that you were horribly disappointed. I will have to crack mine soon. Some of the coldest ive been was standing in line the last 2 years.

"Hate" is too strong a word, & I did enjoy the Scotch version. But asking people to lay out $20 a bottle for clearly inferior product (IMHO) doesn't sit well with me. I'm sure they'll sell plenty of it without my grumpy-ass presence.

Hey Everyone - It might be a longshot, but checking to see if anyone has seen any Bent Paddle DSDB bottles laying around. I saw a page or 2 back where someone said chi-lake finally sold out. Thank you in advance!
