I was the guy with a light-blue Trillium hoodie on at the bar.

Picked up a crowler of this tonight and the nose alone was worth the price. It’s delicious and I thought this variant was a big improvement on the base beer. Grab one Tuesday if you can. Also, apparently a hoppy red ale will be out Tuesday too.

I didn't get enough a look around unfortunately and I was in and out. I opened one of the two crowlers with some friends this afternoon and unfortunately didn't care for it. The nose was great, a ton of vanilla and a bit of coffee. Could have used something to dry it out a bit on the flavor, unfortunately way too sweet for my liking.

The kids are off from school tomorrow, so I'm taking the day off as well and thinking about finally going to More for the first time to grab some lunch. Does anyone know where to access their menu? I'd like to know what I will be able to order for the kids and plan accordingly on bringing snacks if they need them. They don't seem to have a website, and I don't know if it's on Facebook, but I'm not on FB. Anyone???

Basically they use facebook as their menu and have most posts (but not all) linked up to instagram. Unfortunately for your situation, the stuff that is only on facebook tends to be pictures of the menu.

That said, your kids should be fine. I bring my kids there quite a bit (even the 2 year old who is pretty much a miniature version of mean drunk me). They have a kids menu with crayons to color on and the usual things you'd think of - chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, mac & cheese, pasta, and (I think) sliders. Can get apple sauce or fries as the side. Half the time I get an order of the cheese curds and my kids eat more of that than I do. They have a couple drink options like milk or a juice box.

For you, they have a small menu, but the stuff they have is good. I'd recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich.

That's great news on the kids menu. Now I just have to figure out what kid-related activity to do nearby.

Here now..there’s 8 beers on. Everything available for crowlers I believe. Second batch of Strong Hand just got tapped. One of the best ones he’s done.

There’s Safari Land (on North Ave) and Enchanted Caste (on Roosevelt), both maybe 10 minutes away. They’ll have video games, bowling, stuff like that. And if you go to Enchanted Castle you’ll drive by Noon Whistle as well

Thanks - I saw both of those, but we just had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese over the weekend and I think we need a break from those type of places! I'm looking at the Yorktown Center, where there is a FunFlatables and apparently an indoor play area in the mall - I'm leaning towards that...or just letting them do cartwheels all over More.

I'm still debating if I can get away with popping into Noon Whistle, but that may be stretching my luck!

From my conversation with the bartender on Monday, nothing likely until mid-December.

The jist of the story is, MoRE bought a refurbished canning unit from someone in Canada and planned to have it up and running shortly after opening. That unit didn't work properly because it wouldn't quite fill all the cans properly. It would skip/miss on filling every 4th/5th can when they initially sparked it up. They've had it serviced and tried to have it repaired to no avail, so now they are in the process of purchasing a new unit (not sure if that one will be refurbished as well or brand new). Until the new unit is ready to go, and up until now, they've been using a mobile canning unit operated by someone who specifically helps with mobile canning. However, there is not an abundance of canning units that are available and the one that is available in the Chicagoland area operated by that individual has been booked up quite a bit lately and will continue to be booked up until that mid-December date. Throw in the holidays and other things into the equation hence the delay.

This is what I was told, at least. A lot of what they have available on draft is coming directly from the holding tanks, which is why in certain cases people have noticed a slight difference between canned versions (when they have been canned) and the when having that same beer on draft. They've filled up quite a few of their kegs as well so the lack of a canning line is really creating a bottle neck and is really preventing MoRE from brewing new/different recipe batches at the frequency they would like.

Was over there around 1230 grabbing crowlers of the coffee vanilla Falling Colors (excellent) and Strong Hand (best non-DDH IPA he's done yet, full disclosure I'm a sucker for all Mosaic) and I happened to be there while Shaun and Co. were toasting coconut for a new stout (!!!) It smelled freaking amazing like they had carmelized it just a bit.

You heard it here first! One thing is for sure. A coconut Henna will dwarf the Babka Henna line.

There was a coconut Henna on draft at the first Henna release and it was damn fine!

I have only 2 things to say about your post:
    1. F’in Canadians!
    2. Just how long were you talking to the bartender? That is the most detailed, albeit helpful, post I’ve ever seen on this forum.

I was the only one at the bar for probably about 2 hours. Couple of patrons at tables and a couple of people walked in to get crowlers but for the most part I was the only one up there.

Haha. Maybe next time. It’s too early now, but the Christmas Lights at Morton Arboretun in winter are really cool. You could do that next time you’re out in the western burbs.

    Please do this.

I guess the flip side is they have their taps filled which to me sounds better in the long run. I’ve heard non beer geeks (folks not on this forum) ask the same thing - why don’t they have MoRe of their own beers on. Now they do.

Yeah the better variety is a good thing for people who don’t live near VP. The one thing that doesn’t add up for me is the “back up” from not canning yet the crowler limits are at 2 per beer.
