Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

Saw that what’s the verdict never had it

 

I really wanted to go today - went last year and thoroughly enjoyed, base and variants. I’m a big fan! But traffic and weather and child-rearing made it a no go. I recommend you seek some out. Won’t knock your socks off, but will make you want to curl up in front of the fire and get cozy with some loved ones. Very balanced and pleasant.

You guys are making me very excited that I bought 2 bottles...

 

Just took my first sip, and it’s upper echelon for my taste. It must be the “barrel aged coffee bean” and “barrel aged coconut”. Trying to picture the process of barrel aging these ingredients.

This is a top 10 beer of 2017 for me so far

 

Guessing this response from earlier today is someone from Epic. That should give you some picture of what happened. Now I'm dying to try mine...

 

Well, I guess I'll be visiting my local Binny's to add to the 1 bottle I recently bought.

I posted in WBAYDN, but it needs to be repeated. This beer is killer. You get everything listed, and it's all balanced. Really amazing stuff that was sitting on the shelf at Binny's...Now, if only I could get some BA 1050 or Baptista up by me..

 

Revolution killed it at the Deth's Tar release today - super fast line for cans and since it was limit one on Deth By Cherries the 650 4pks lasted a long time. VERY happy it was limit 4 on Cafe Deth since it is outstanding, and regular Deth is great too (all were on tap at 2pm). Consensus is that they are the best versions we can remember.

For anyone interested, the new North Riverside Binny's is releasing some KBS on Saturday.

I vividly remember last year thinking the beers were good, but that was about it. The article was very complimentary, as well.

I woke up early on a rainy Saturday morning and I’m not in a line for a stout. Have I done something wrong?

Just went to Binnys grand they still have a bunch of good BA stouts around.

 

"Christ my wallet!" should be a new name for these style beers... I just gave $120 to Binny's for a few of these.

I had it last night. Good BA stout but not as much flavor as some have. My friend who bought it had last years and thought 2016 was better from what he remembered.
Was a good bottle to share with a few friends, for sure.

 

Not glamorous with the plastic cups. Tried the Regular Deth (L), Cafe, and Plum (R), then the Cherry later (not pictured). Fun. Packed but not animal house scene.
