Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

My experience is that he's typically higher by at least $1 or $2 for most moderately sought after releases. $10 a can for Deth's Tar though? That is crazy, let them sit.

I think it was actually written before the privatized parking meters were even conceived (it was an evil too craven for that day), but yeah, 100% sure hipsters and lack of parking were mentioned.

 

Interesting, I grabbed a 4 pack and didn't think it was hot at all. A bit pricey at $30 for the 4 pack until I realized most BA bombers in the area are in the $17-20 range. I also like knowing I can open up a 12oz bottle at any point when I feel like drinking one, if I want to open up a BA bomber I have to find a second person to do it with cause it's just too much beer. I really wish that method of packaging beer would die.

 

Yeah, sticker shock is initially high (like the $30 per 4-pack on VSOD this Friday), but per oz. the price is fine, and compared to something like CBS ($25 a bottle), it's great. I'd much rather drink a brand new (fully carbed) beer 4x for $30 than guzzle 750mL once for $25.

 

Capone's is usually higher than anywhere else on limited releases outside of the super mom & pop gougers. This is as of a few years ago because I ceased shopping there once Beer Temple opened with better prices and service just down the street.

 

That's good to hear. Maybe it was just the keg at FOBAB or my palate was very sensitive that day. I'd probably try it again on draft, but won't be spending money on a 4 pack.

 

I mean, they did start doing those great League of Heroes boxes...

 

Beer Temple bottle shop prices are always good, the tap room on the other hand is consistently on the high side. BA Willetized Lagunitas for $6 for an 8oz pour? The 6 pack costs $11.99

That's why I bought Deth's Tar and plan on telling them it's a cool new Star Wars can..despite having no Star Wars characters on it. If they don't like it, then I have to drink it!

cafe deth is phenomenal. one of the best coffee and ba beers ive ever had. very glad I picked up more than one 4-pack at rev, totally worth it.
