How about you @taplebr? Did you also receive your tracking number and an apology?

I had a similar interaction with him around this time last year where I had to send several prompt messages to get him to ship the beer / provide a tracking number after my box had been shipped and delivered. What was further aggravating was that he would read the messages and then not respond or provide very delayed responses. I also saw that he had been checking in the beers I had sent him to untappd while being unresponsive in our message chain.

I eventually got my beer and received a nice extra as well. I personally debated for quite awhile about what type of feedback to leave given the problems with shipping and communication, ultimately deciding to give positive feedback but note the issues with the trade in the description.

That is really a kick in the nuts when he is drinking your beers and you have nothing from him.

With accumulated less then optimal experiences being reported, @mrjones7114 may want show up here, explain himself and consider a self-imposed break or slow down with trading as he clearly has problems handling trades in a timely manner. Or maybe mods give him a 30 day timeout or something along those lines?

Can mods put together some sort of different "bad trader" tag? Like, "perpetually tardy, unresponsive trader who requires public shaming to address his issues and actually close his trades"?

That's a joke. But not really.

and one someone reaches a certain threshold of questionable behavior, if they don't get banned, limit their ability to have multiple trades open at same time.

Sounds like this guy doesn't believe his trade partners deserve any sort of mutual respect until he's drank all of their beers and verified they were worthy.

    That's not how this works.

If you have time to unbox and drink the beers you've initiated and accepted a trade for, then you have plenty of time not only to have the common courtesy to respond to your trade partner, but to package up your own god damn beers that you agreed to ship out...and actually ship them!

Further, if you are unable to create your own shipping labels from home, work or elsewhere after 80+ trades, and actually rely on FedEx employees to create shipping labels for you, that's just mind boggling to me. It's a hell of a rigmarole to have them do that for you and I really have a hard time believing you're still doing that @mrjones7114 .

At this point it sounds like you definitely deserve at least a few of your past trades to have had negative feedback, let alone these current ones. Neutral obviously doesn't cut it at this point. I'd definitely have you on my personal DNT list.

Everything is taken care of with both trades. Nothing to explain other than I was tardy on shipping out due to work and have apologized. Thank you for your insightful opinions/criticism.

Further, if anyone wants to voice there opinions in person I will gladly buy you a beer during Tampa Bay Beer week.

I’ve traded with @mrjones7114 before, first trade was spot on and no issues whatsoever, he hit me up a month ago for a trade but his communication was very weak so I let him know I was moving on and he apologized and that it was due to the thanksgiving week. Two bad BT threads, neutral feedback, multiple people being put through the ringer. I’d say his account needs to be put on suspension or something. Hopefully he sends my best bud @taplebr his tracking soon as well

I received a text (he responded within an hour and a half of me texting him) indicating he's dropping off my box today. If that happens it's only two days after I shipped his box so not an issue to me.

I'm at work so have to keep this brief... happy to provide any details later but I shipped on Wednesday of this week after agreeing to a trade on Monday of this week. Absent seeing this post, I probably wouldn't have contacted him until tomorrow.

Hopefully you'll take this as nothing more than just a helpful suggestion.

Believe it or not, I think all of us can completely understand your behavior, and I don't think anyone is really trying to give you a hard time because you were a bit "tardy on the shipping." Just speaking for myself, I have a wife and pretty stressful job (the former is not related to the latter), and often times become overwhelmed by responsibilities (especially during the holidays). As a result, my plans to ship a box sometimes don't coincide with the date I told my trading partner I would ship. When that happens, I typically send them some sort of communication (text, email, BM, etc.), letting them know what's going on, with an explanation for the delay and an apology. In every single instance, my trading partner has been sympathetic, expressed his understanding, told me there was no rush and to just take my time getting the box to fedex/UPS.

Just a suggestion, but you might consider giving this a try sometime. I think you'll be surprised how understanding and sympathetic most people can be, as long as you just let them know what's going on (and the reason for the delay).

    Cheers!

    Agreed and well written.

However, if he gets his third BT thread created (hope not), can it be three strikes and you're out?

    @mrjones7114
, I'd seriously take this MOD's advice and fix your trading habits. Have more respect for your trading partners. They shouldn't have to send you multiple messages that you read/receive and do not answer.

    Thanks John, great suggestion.

And again I'd seriously love to buy anyone a beer if they would like to expand there thoughts on the situation. Tampa Bay beer week March 4-11

Update on my end - I have a tracking number and box is with FedEx. Again, my situation is a bit different in that we are only talking about two days. If I weren't leaving during the middle of next week for a two week trip and hadn't seen this thread, I wouldn't have been all that worried just yet.

Be thankful this thread was created or it was highly unlikely that he would have shipped before he received your package or even before you leave for your trip next week. Hopefully, he ships and provides tracking info promptly from this point on...

That is quite the claim for someone who has some blemishes on their record like you have. 99.95% of us have spotless records and never one incident like this, let alone multiples.

Never claimed anything. Just made a statment.
And congratulation on having a spotless record on a web site about beer. Are you going to brag about being a level 99 troll on World of Warcraft also? Pat yourself on the back and on the way out pick up that participation trophy.

Myself and many others have spotless records on making real life beer trades with other human beings and being responsible and true to our word. I have no idea what World of Warcraft is, is that where you trade?
