A: Beer poured a dark black body with a creamy caramel colored head. Head quickly goes away and leaves minimal lacing and little head.

S: Prevalent chocolate and bourbon like aromas. Never picked up much coffee on the nose. The bourbon and oak became more prevalent as the beer warmed.

T: Very sweet stout. Lots of chocolate flavors in the beginning. Bourbon shows up later.

M: Thick full mouthfeel. For a 14+ ABV this drinks easy. The beer is very smooth. One of the best cannned stouts I have had.

O: Easily one of the smoothest canned stouts I have drank. Never picked up much coffee froms smells or tastes but everything else is top notch.

These guys make killer fruited sours, and this one is no exception. I'll probably buy another 6 pack or 2.

Hitting another local brewery. Big Oyster’s Lavender Fields. IPA with tons of floral notes from honey and lavender.

Drinking very nicely. Love the potent rye spiciness, and the mouthfeel is relatively full and chewy for a 5.3% beer.

it's almost de rigueur that you mention this is a great value brew
    but seriously
I had 2 cases, then rounded it up to 3 1/2 but only because I talked myself out of 4
my wife is fully tolerant of my hobby, obsession, pleasure
but a stack of 4 cases gets attention
however, another way to think of this -
each case is 12 bombers of an absolutely excellent brew for $48
suddenly the stack becomes irresistible, the beer of the holidays!
the friday before Christmas holiday cheers

Getting started on my 12 Days of Christmas beers! Beer 1A - evidently a New Glarus R&D sour, based on smell and bottle cap.

Pardon the unmatched glassware! I only have a New Glarus shaker pint, and I can't handle being chided for my shaker pints anymore! Wicked Weed is appropriate for a sour beer though, right?

I couldn't tell which R&D beer this was. I'm not super familiar with their sour offerings, and perusing through the options on Untappd, I was at a bit of a loss. So the unveiling...

R&D Vintage 2015. This is absolutely delicious - it certainly has that dry, geuze lambic character, and it's not exceptionally sweet. While it certainly is sour, it doesn't have the syrupy and sweet body that is typical of a standard American sour.

This is excellent. Great choice @spartan3186 - thank you!

Last time I was in Des Moines I had their G Funk Gose. It was one of the best tasting sour beers I've ever had. That was the only beer I've had from them, but damn it was nice. I could only imagine how they do fruit. Cheers.
