Chicagoland NE IPAs (2018)

Last SOJ was 12/6. Seems like they are on a 6 week schedule so we should have a new batch soon.


Also another batch of Transient Juice if Loose is hitting stores. The last batch around Xmas was not great. Not sure if I want to try again.

 

Cans are made at Great Central and bottles are made at Maplewood. Not that they couldn't make Juice Pants at Great Central, but there's a difference in production.

 

I thought the Juice I had this weekend at Transient was really good, so hopefully it's back in form.

 

Pretty sure the most recent cans of Son of Juice I had I picked up from Marianos and I think they had a date of 12-23

 

anyone now if juice is loose hit west burbs stores? I see it hit beer temple and Capones

 

Haven’t had Stratus in a while but this looks a lot better

 

The important question:

Is that batch of Stratus being canned, or is it brewery-only draft? I'm definitely hoping for the former, but I still may pass on the cans. I've had too many regrets after buying the cloud series 4-packs

 

The open bottle got cans that were a few hours old yesterday.

 

Anyone else try the new batch of Juice is Loose?

 

Grabbed a 4 pack at The Beer Cellar. It wasn’t cold though so I can’t try until tomorrow. Been awhile since I had a 4 pack of it in my fridge

 

did they have a good amount of JIL when you were there yesterday?

 

Grabbed some cans of the newest batch 2 weeks ago at transient when it came out. wasn't impressed. Lacked the bright citrusy hops it normally has. The few knocks I have on their hoppy beers is the inconsistent batches.

 

4-5 reviews up on the 1/16 batch of Stratus, all good. Photos look great too - bright orange and not thin.

There were 2 stacks of 10 cases (Czech Yourself mixed in). 1 stack was nearly gone but the other remained. That was at 7 pm so I'd think there would be some at open

 

Still 5 and a half cases of JiL at Beer Cellar

 

You jump on those Strati yet?

 

Nope but add another one to the list along with the recent Navaja cans, 3 recent Pipeworks bombers...sigh

 

I know a few people mentioned it already, but any other thoughts on Spoonful of Sugar? I bought a bomber but need to wait until february to pop it.
