Good morning, all! I had some time to kill last evening, so I stopped at a thrift store that I haven't visited in a while. As soon as I went in, I noticed this Avon Great American Wildlife stein sitting on the top shelf of a wall display. It's ostentatious, it takes up a lot of room, and it has a certain tackiness about it with its transfer decorations and cast composite lid with eagle finial. I wish I hadn't seen it, because I knew I wouldn't be able to leave without it. I do not intend to wait until the next Stein Club Sunday to enter it into the public record, so here it is. Paired with Slow Elk, from Big Sky Brewing.

Great fight last night, well if you're a Stipe fan...

Couldn't find ya full fight video, BA - either none went up or the UFC took 'em down already - but this makes Stipe Miocic the first UFC heavyweight to defend the belt 3 consecutive times - and not against weak opponents - heck, he was the underdog last night...

First round was competitive, both guys throwing punches; followed by three rounds of Stipe hanging on Ngannou and punching him incessantly without any resistance - lotsa ground and pound; and the fifth round was just the two 'em kinda standing around, Stipe having basically already won the fight, and Ngannou essentially all out of gas...

I'd kill that last can o' Green, and then go full metal Alchemist the rest of the day... lol

 

So, Mitch Steele's brewery opened last week here in ATL. A visit is in order soon. But my WholeFoods had their pale ale on tap so I couldn't wait.



Upfront a subtle grassy/floral hop note; Malt backbone isn't too sweet, but keeps the hops in check. But the bitterness is definitely on the high side. Really a balanced beer however. Drinks easy. Would like a touch more hop presence here though, didn't get much of a nose at all
