Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Monday back to work. Another quick and busy feeling day to start things off. Lots of rain all day and pretty warm. The roads are back to landmine status after the snow meltdown.

    Today's reviews:

Very nice fruit IPA. Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange peel, black tea, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passionfruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bread, honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness; and lemon tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; nice creamy/bready/grainy wheat mouthfeel; some hop stickiness, and light resin/rinds/acidity in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing tart/bitter dryness, no astringent flavors. Very easy drinking from the mild tart/bitter finish. Drinks like an NEIPA with added lemon acidity. Great balance of bright/juicy citrus/fruity/tropical hops, lemon, and tea flavors; nice malt backbone with minimal residual sweetness. Really delicious and unique. 3.9

White stout. Bit of a gusher can. This was very nice. Murky, poor head retention. Aromas and flavors of nutty medium roast coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toasted brown bread, and light herbal/floral/grassy hops. Light herbal/grassy/spicy hop and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; nice creamy/bready/grainy malt/lactose mouthfeel; light sticky hops and chalky roast. Lightly increasing bitter/carbonated dryness. Very easy drinking, 6.7%. The carbonation was quite elevated, but was not detrimental to overall drinkability. Great balance of the bready malts, coffee, cocoa, and lactose flavors; with solid earthy hop presence. Does a really good job on feeling like a stout, one of the better ones I've had out of very few. 3.85

Very good DIPA. Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Similar/muted aromas. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing resin dryness, no cloying/astringency. Super smooth, minimal warming 9.5%, never aggressive. Nicely juicy and light dank hop complexity; nice dark/bready malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Adequate lingering dryness and well attenuated. Definitely classic C's/Amarillo stuff going on, surpassed my expectations. Midwest style DIPA on the malts. 3.78

This was fantastic! Amazing lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, raisin, cherry, herbal, wood, pepper, and pine hops. Light pine/herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, bready, and grainy malt/lactose mouthfeel. Light sticky hops and chalky char/roast. Lightly increasing hop/char dryness, no acrid/astringent flavors. Insanely smooth, zero warming 7.5%. This just nails it for an oatmeal stout; much less bitter/drying than most of the De Proef brewed Mikkeller stouts I've had. Amazingly rich and well rounded malt complexity; balanced fruity/nutty coffee; and mellow earthy hop presence. Fantastic silky oats/lactose mouthfeel. This shit was expensive though. Would do it again? Maybe. 4.28

yeah, although as I understood it at the time, it's half and half (50% HA IPA/50% TiredH) so it's hard for me to gauge the separate characteristics...haven't had a TH pure beer yet, but that will change in 2018. Cheers!

Yes, and from most collabs I've seen, the head brewer dominates. Although there's two cooks in the kitchen, expect to see the prominent features of the lead brewer. That is why American Elder from Tired Hands is cloudy, and Half Acre's is not. Doesn't mean that one is better than the other. It just means that the lead dog is in charge of the finished product.

Interesting stuff... love it more as it goes down. Damn this stuff sneaks up on you though. So smooth. Onion citrus slam-down. No off-putting astringency. Yum.

Really like it with some age on it and I recently saw a few 2015-16 bottles on a shelf of a local store. Love it when a liquor store ages the beer for you lol.

Just released collab between Sand City and Mumford Brewing and it is tasty. I wasn’t gonna drink tonight, but a buddy was nice enough to pick me up a 4 so I’m damned well gonna try one. Incredible DIPA. Can’t believe this is as strong as it is.

I would have been pretty unhappy to have paid bomber price on this one. I prefer my IPAs a bit more bitter, and thicker, and sans any juice. I have something in the fridge that should work. Cheers!

Had to go get my kid from school at noon, sick still. Dumb asses had him lifting weights the first day back after missing school for 4 days. At 14 I expect to figure stuff like that out on his own, guess not yet...
