What beer are you drinking now? #1942

Playing off this....why is every single Red IPA a seasonal that comes out this time of year? I love a good Red IPA but have no need to drink them all at one time. Would love for them to be spread out over the year a little better. Maybe I am crazy, actualIy I know I am, but I do think a Red IPA would taste pretty damn good in the summer and fall.

 

Pretty impressive legs on the glass after that initial sip with this "old" / classic beer ...



... celebrating with Shaun White with his spectacular Gold Medal win, and the "oldest" one in the field too. His last run crushed it! (Not particularly thrilled to see him dragging the American flag through the snow , but nevertheless, stoked he won!)

I said the same thing to my wife. I'll cut him some slack, since he seemed to be distracted by something and someone randomly handed him the flag.

In the Flying Tomato's defense, he was a bit overwhelmend when being handed that flag. Thrilled he pulled through!

 

I am drinking Oro Negro from Jackie O's Pub and Brewery an Imperial Stout brewed with black walnuts and conditioned with vanilla beans, oak staves, cacao nibs, cinnamon sticks, and habaneros, ABV 10.00%. It is a different kind of stout. Roasted malts, chocolate, some coffee and walnuts, but you can also taste the rest of the stuff, vanilla, cinnamon, oak, and above all the habaneros. It's spicy, significantly spicy. Not too much, but enough to make pronounced. It comes out very good.

Good evening, all, and happy Mardi Gras! Hope your day was fatter than mine. Our church hosts an annual Shrove Tuesday pancake lunch and supper, and I spent most of the day mixing pancake batter in a kitchen full of smoking griddles. It wasn't nearly as glamorous as it sounds. Now it's time to kick back for a minute or two, since it's back to work tomorrow. This is Crowd Control, from Southern Prohibition Brewing, Hattiesburg, MS. BA says this is an IPA, the brewer says IIPA. Whatever you call it, it's one outstanding beer for sure. Shout-out to @Squire123 for this gem!
