Anyways, picked up my tax reward at Total Wine...

@jvgoor3786 and @spicoli00 - yeah, watched about half of Cloverfield Paradox with my chicken gyro - I was really liking it - not sure what the big critical gripe is - reminds me of Event Horizon and Solaris in some respects - I'll probably finish it later, with lunch...

Interesting note: I believe that movie was produced for the theaters. It cost $40 million and the production company didn't think it would make it's money back. They sold it to Netflix for $50 million. It's Netflix way of saying they may have the next Blockbuster release, even if this one wasn't it.

On this dark and rainy day . . .



Dark, blackish color with some ruby red tints at the edges.

Aroma of roasted malt. That's about it but it's a clean scent.

Flavor on entry is coffeeish, roasted malt and that's the profile it keeps.

Not much to say about this well made but fairly nondescript Porter. Guinness does it all a lot better and costs less.

 

Just want to make sure I do not get ostracized or worse yet, banned for drinking Breakfast beer in the evening.

I have to say The Cloverfield Paradox was a disappointment.

 

Moving right along here ba. Birds eye view, stout w/ coffee, coconut, & cacao nibs. A revisit nbs and it’s not doing much better than my initial thoughts. Flavor tones sound good but are rather subtle/ modest at best. A bit of a chalky feel too. Rather average/ok. 12/18/17,

Coast Brewing IPA (in Sullivan's Island, SC) piney goodness!

 

Having an Armand from Ter Dolen Brewery (Belgium). It's a Belgian unfiltered blonde made with Cascade (hops). Nice!

Rather unknown beer and brewery (to me at least). Got this one from one of my beer sellers who spends some time monitoring beer prizes and awards. This one had a gold medal at the Brussels Beer Challenge. Not to bad indeed.

Swift Current Brewing Hinter Bier, a Sticke Altbier from New Hampshire. I have had mixed feelings about their beers but this one wasn't bad.
