Drinking a Hopsmack now. Great brew. Reminds me of SqueezeIt with more bite.

Absolutely. I was trying to tell people that when it came out but nobody wanted to listen.

 

Looks like King Sue and Golden Nugget are hitting the streets

 

I think that might be NugMo (i.e., Mosaic DH GN) based on the bottle, but not 100% sure.

 

Its mosaic Dry hopped Golden Nugget.

 

STC Binny’s was a no go for TG. Hopefully they get their drop tomorrow

 

Oh snap! I bought a bottle of Hopsmack on Friday and my bag broke when I was bringing it home on Friday so of course the bottle broke. I went to replace it today when I stopped by the local beer store and grabbed what I thought was Hopsmack, but now that I'm checking it actually turns out to be the Mosaic Dry Hopped Golden Nugget. Label colors are similar and it was in the rack the Hopsmack was. Oh well...

 

have TG's DDH offerings always been this good or it is just this latest iteration?

this string of DDH Sue, Mozee, Fire/Skulls, & Hopsmack has been ridiculous

 

I've always thought their bottled Decorah beers were "Fire". Particularly the Decorah-brewed Pale Ales. They seemed to pack more flavor into true Pale Ales (<6%) yet keep them drinkable, then just about anybody I can think of.

I hadn't had all that many until now, because it was only from the 1-2 trips I'd had to Iowa or Wisconsin. But yeah, it sure is great to have all these options in Chicago now!

 

I would say "yes" and we just haven't gotten it fresh before this year....

 

I haven't had as many as the Iowa/Wisconsin natives (close to 20 different ones, but not many repeat samples), but most of the Decorah beers have been very good (wasn't that into Sol Hunter, Biter or Tsunami, and I think the latter two weren't Decorah).

Now we just need some Sosus!

 

DDH PS didn't blow me away this time like it did the first (either because it was slightly thinner than before, or more likely, because I've had so much good local shit since then), but based on the TG stuff I've had in the past (and based on the hype they've had for years now), they've been this good.

 

Anybody seen King Sue or NugMo at Binnys Grand or SLoop yet?

 

I've bought about 4 bottles of DDH Psuedo. As good as many of the top notch New England IPA's in Chicago...a touch too bitter for perfection, in my opinion, but this beer and Fire, Skulls & Money have me finally buying into the Goliath hype.

 

No, it's really good, just thinner than I like. A year or two ago I almost exclusively drank DIPAs, so at this point anything lighter than ~7% is going to come in a little thin to my taste (I have a similar issue with Corridor's excellent NE stuff).

 

I'll answer my own question w/r/t Grand: they're both there but not out on the shelves--gotta ask. DDH PS, Hopsmack, Mozee also there on the shelves.

 

This round of King Sue lookin' like a snack...I mean, a total haze bomb again, like recent Fire and DDH Psuedo bottles.

Excited to crack this tonight, I like what's going on at their new facility.
