Back home, drinking my last (for now) Really Old Brown Dog

 

Warming up with some vegetarian chili and a manayunk chocolate mint porter before heading back out to shovel. I was so hoping to coast into spring without anymore of this snow nonsense,very naive of me

 

Ahoy BA's! Since I am working overnights, mornings are my evenings. That said, I've got (3) to share...Round 1:

This glass has massive nucleation so I made quick work of this (but was beautiful)...freshness always counts for something:

...still a couple of more bottles from this batch. Citra hops are fading, but it is Duvel to the core.

Round 2:

...up until now, I thought High West-ified was better, but this is DAMN good and wish I could stumble on another 6-Pack. This is gorgeous and happy to have a few measly bottles left.

Round 3:
No huge surprise to a lot of BA's, but the aroma/flavor is quite significant...the aggressive bitterness has mellowed and the aroma is now revealing notes of stone fruits (peach and apricot) that made me fall in love with this beer 3 years ago...I apologize for the less-than-aggressive pour. However, I like my carbonation!

Extra Extra Knuckle is Extra Extra Delicious!

 

I’ve hunted and gathered what I wanted today, and had some tasty treats along the way. Probably a good thing I’m safely back home with a Jai Alai this afternoon:



The facelift on our building continues, and today the pool is being drained and cleaned. Daily reminders of how I do not miss being a homeowner with a pool! Cheers from SWFL!

 

Mikkeller It's Alive! A tribute to the ancient Belgian Trappist beers.

Picket a Trappist glass at random. An Orval glass would have been better for this one. First time I have a beer that is in first taste and smell almost like Orval. Wonderful tribute.

While on the subject of Trappist; I just saw a newspaper article that said there will be Westvleteren '8' and '12' in a chain of Dutch supermarkets. Almost too good to be true. The beer will be in the supermarket however, but prices will be as high as in the bottle shops (that's around $10 a bottle) customers are only allowed to buy two bottles. And, of course, supply is limited.

Just came back in from a walk up my stupid long driveway. Coming down about 3" an hour right now, white out conditions, about 8-10 inches on ground so far. Wind knocked a bunch of snow out of the trees and it was a perfect shot, got me good. God definitely has a sense of humor. Having another Wrench.
