The Mrs and I are celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary tonight (it was Wednesday). Made my reservations, bought her jewelry and now for a pre night out beer. Magnify - It’s All Relative. hopped with Waimea and Citra and DDH with Waimea, Rakau, Galaxy and Simcoe Lupulin Powder.

 

Where everyone is welcome. A place you will never remember.

I am a CD guy as well, but I don't think I will be buying any Spoil Engine CDs. However, if I happen to end up at one of their shows, I would probably do like I usually do; take my shirt off, then look for people who are completely not supposed to be in that spot in front of the stage, and do a full Lawrence Taylor-1986-going-after-the-quarterback into them to start a proper mosh pit.

The Mrs' family is over now, brats are marinating, more beer is open.

 

Another good summer beer from Rahr & Sons. The chile brings the perfect amount of heat, the mango is sweet juicy and not overbearing, the lime is not that present. Goes down really smooth. Two cans poured into my Corona mug I bought in Cancun in 2015.

 

Surprisingly enough, this beer seems to have held together far better than the lackluster 2015 Bigfoot I posted last week. Whereas that bottle had become thin and the hop character devolved into a grassy bitterness, this one retained the grapefruit/pine character I love so much in this beer as well as the mouthfeel.

A big differentiator may have been that the fresher bottle lost hop aroma and flavor but not the bitterness, while this one was old enough that the bitterness decreased, resulting in a more mellow pour. Either way I dig it!

 

This is a very very good Helles

 

spring cleaning around the house with a little Cosmik Debris. Waited a whole year for this taste and my goodness it was worth the wait. You either love or hate this beer. I love it- till I get tired of it- then I wait another year........
