I give my wife so much grief about shopping but I’m such a hypocrite. If it’s something I love–beer, camping gear, sports stuff, etc., I’m in. One in awhile I take a flyer on a beer I’ve never heard of–cool can, style of the month, another tick, blah blah... this hunch paid-off in spades. Dank, juicy, piney, hazy IPA goodness. It’s like the perfect pair of panties... or whatever the hell she goes shopping for.

Last call here at the bar for me ba. E Pluribus Lupulin no VII, dipa, from Gun Hill brewing. Really pretty good. I’m guessing Citra/mosaic but could be wrong. 2/19/18,

Beer #6. For $11 a 6-pack, this is a damn good value for a sour.

Beachwood 11th Anniversary DIPA. This, to my palate, is what an NEIPA should be: fruity and creamy up front, but with a bitter, bracing back end. Very Trillium-like, but better. Thanks, @dcgunman!

Gonna have another one and due to a terrible miscalculation on my part this is the last ipa in the house. I mean seriously . . . How does that happen ?

Good afternoon, all! I picked up a handy kitchen tip this week. I had some leftover lamb leg roast on Sunday, and I wanted to use it for gyros. I thinly sliced the roast and froze it, intending to use it later in the week. The problem is, how do you reheat it while maintaining the tenderness and flavor? I found the perfect solution on the Salt of the Earth coffee & food blog. Line a pan with foil, then place a layer of leaf lettuce on the bottom. Place a layer of meat on the lettuce and cover it with another layer of lettuce. Put a layer of foil on top and seal the edges, then put it into a low oven for an hour and a half and Bob's yer uncle! I put some of the juices from the freezer bag in the pan and set the oven for 175 deg. F. The meat was exceptionally tender and tasted like it was freshly cooked. I cut it into thin strips, then loaded up a flatbread with the lamb, tomatoes and cucumbers, and homemade tzatziki sauce. No apologies for the poor picture - I was hungry and didn't have time to put my sandwich down.

This is today's project: breakfast egg rolls for the Easter breakfast at church. I made over 90 of these, not all of which will make it to breakfast. You know, due to quality testing and all that.

Now on to the beer: Stone Exalted IPA, served in a #proper Spiegelau Adina beer goblet. Exalted beer calls for exalted glassware.
