am grilling while drinking La Fin Du Monde from unibroue, a Belgian Ale Tripel, ABV 9.00%. The flavor is wheat biscuits, caramel, banana, pear, clove, some yeast flavor, barely noticeable alcohol. Flavorful but not aggressive. I think it is a very good Belgian Tripel.

At Noble Ale Works, sipping tasters of YES! Yes! Yes! (hazy ipa), Gam Gam’s Peach Cobbler Ala Mode (sour), and of course, my desert island beer, Naughty Sauce:

Still tasting fantastic. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate honey, bready, light caramel malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; with balanced creamy/slick malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Not overly sweet or bitter either way, extremely well balanced. Lightly boozy alcohol, but dangerously easy drinking. Never disappoints. Finished off the last of my 2 packs. I can work on all my Waldos now. Need to find a 3rd 6 pack of Waldos if I can.

Still tasting amazing! Aromas and flavors of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, marshmallow, graham cracker, vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, and dark bread; with lighter notes of roasted nuts and coffee. Light roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; with some light spice stickiness, chalky roast, and oak tannins as well. Lightly increasing bitter/spicy oak dryness. Mildly increasing warmth of 11%, minimal booze. This is just a touch above Coconut Rum Barrel for me. Best one so far by a very small margin. The S'mores flavors are absolutely enormous and authentic feeling; but still great balance of the base beer malt and barrel characteristics. Plenty of barrel presence; the spiced versions like Chai had overpowered the barrel, but that is not the case here. Still have a couple left, and plenty more Salted Caramel. Cherry Chocolate is coming in this week, so I will definitely be getting a couple packs.

Bell's Whiskey Barrel Aged Cherry Stout, this is one that that never met my expectations, sadly. Maybe if I aged it a few years...

As the homebrew forum is debating how to go about brewing a dubbel, I thought I would refresh my memory with Rochefort 6 and Ommegang Dubbel. Back to back, in that order. Probably been 5 years since I had the Rochefort, and 10 years since I had the Ommegang. The Rochefort has a rich, fullness and sweetness to it, but still manages to pull off a dry and fruity finish. The Ommegang has a thinner body, has some candi notes around the edges, but seems a little less body in the middle? Sorry for such non-descript descriptions. Enjoying both, really.

Time for some Wrench Northeast style IPA.

This is one features a pithy explosion of Citra and Mosaic unlike any other beer I ever had.

    Amazing!

    Cheers all you Nocturnal BAs!
