Man, now there's a band I haven't seen or heard from in a long time! Good stuff and good to see them getting things going again.

it is fine beer, but if I drove a few hundred miles north I would be at Hills Farmstead.

Tonight my wife and I split a couple we got through Tavour.

Started out with 10 & 2... which was remarkably thin and unsatisfying. Supposed to be a barleywine and this one just did not fly with me.

Moved on to The Magnet, from Three Magnets... not too shabby, and by far the better beer of the night.

@StoutElk_92 sent me this beer awhile back (where are you nowadays good sir?) and I'm cracking it now. It was canned in December but I figured I could let it go a little longer if only for the Belgian yeast and spices being there to hold it in place. Knocking all my IPA's out one by one. (and I'm bad, I bought two new four packs of Toppling Goliath the other night...shame on me)

This came off a bit more "belgian" than I expected, and what I mean by that is, I was expecting a bit of a Trillium twist on an eastern style, but instead it's pretty much straight forward without any of that lovely Trillium "glitter".

The body is slightly hazy but mostly clear; the head diminished immediately (enough for me to put the whole pounder into the glass without spillage); the nose was mostly lemon, sea salt, white breads, pepper, and pillowy yeast.

When I got to the flavor, it brought forth lemon peel, dish detergent, white pepper, clove, and very faint hop presence. I was expecting to taste spoiled hop, if indeed that was the case for the mediocrity, but I don't believe the hops were there to begin with as I would have tasted faded hops, not absent hops (usually how that works).

Overall I rated it a sad 3.74 out of 5, which is extremely low for Trillium. It may be the most uninteresting offering I've had from them. It's not undrinkable, it's just really underwhelming. Cheers.

That's a fly can design, wish it was an ipa and in my hands. Always loved the 40 oz to freedom artwork. They should make it in a 40 ouncer.

What's up BA!? This thing is 5 weeks old and still tasting fantastic. Revision hasn't disappointed me yet. Cheers!

Finally sat down to review this even though I've had it half a dozen times!

Bottled 3/14/18. Aroma is great, very nice aromas of chocolate ice cream, chocolate, frozen strawberries, and strawberry syrup. Flavor likewise brings in chocolate ice cream, but is met with metallic milk and some slight burnt caramel popcorn. Lots of earth and coffee going on as well. More than I remember. Feel is spot on. Creamy, carbonated, roasted. Overall 3.96 out of 5. It's no Blueberry Maple, but it's still decent and something I'll revisit again eventually.
