I’m not into the Bruery thing at all. Yes when I first got into craft and I was trying everything I really enjoyed their Humulus Lagar and a few others. I did try a lot of their other offerings at the time but it wasn’t what I was looking for. So when I was invited to their tinth anniversary shindig yesterday my initial answer was no I’ll pass. Plus I don’t do beer events. But I ended up going. I’m glad I did.
I’ll keep this short and sweet.
It was HOT. No I did not wear my speedos. Didn’t want to get my white boy legs burnt from the sun. I did represent Edgar. I ate early so I waited in line no more than 5 minutes. Food was okay for what it was. Chips and salsa was all over inside the tent area. So you can grab and go as you wish. Don’t know how many hands were inside the chips or where them hands been before? I guess most drunkasses don’t care what’s been inside those bowls of chips. Or salsa. I drank almost the same amount of water as I did beer. So I wasn’t a drunkass. Or as drunk as some. I hit the heavy stouts and BA stouts at first but quickly dropped to the saissons and sours. Most of the IPA offerings I’ve had before or they didn’t appeal to me so I passed on some. I did try that banana pudding something or another from the Bruery. I thought I was going to throw up.
I enjoyed the offerings from Celladors, Beachwood’s Frambiek and Mr Winston. I’m a sucker for almost anything Beachwood. Everything else was good. Great atmosphere at the Phoenix Club. It was especially great to meet all my fellow BA’s whom I never met in person before. Too many to name. Or my old ass can’t remember half of them. Any ways it was a great event and I would come out of my hidings to do it again. For some of you who remember let’s meet up soon at OG Beachwood. Cheers y’all.

LOL at the couple making out on the ground on the playground. I guess that's what happens when you find someone with a similar interest in hazy IPAs.

This is exactly what happened. I don't think that guard was communicating with anyone else because nobody but he seemed to know what he was talking about. But at that point it was too late to try to get everyone back in line....

Food was disappointing because I couldn't get any. Those lines stayed obnoxious all the way until the end. Never would have guessed that would be the worst line of the fest...

Like others said, I too saw the security guard waiving people in from the back of line screaming, "there is no line, come on in" during the hoarder entry.

Great party, but I didn't even eat because the line for food was too long. Oh well, just got more drunk I suppose...

Festival was great this year. The food line was a little long, but that's not the worst thing in the world. My buddy and I were able to hang out in the shade, alternate going out to get a beer, and chat with some strangers. And the food was good.

Banana Puddin' was delicious. Really dug the offerings from Hangar 24. Key Lime Black Tuesday was waaay limier than I expected and was ok. Rugbrod was fantastic.

    Looking forward to next year.

Was this a new batch of Rugbrod, or a vintage stash? That was one of the first beers that turned me on to The Bruery.

A couple years ago I was chatting with a Bruer at an event and he just laughed when I asked if it might ever return. Said it wasn't a great seller. I was sad.

Doesn’t anyone remember what year or WC was infected? I know it was either 2013 or 2014.

I specifically asked this when I got a pour and was told it was a new small batch.

Very interested to hear SMM reviews on the new beers today!

Assuming the Peach Sour Blonde is a 750ml bottle based on the price? Also, feels like they kinda phoned it in on the naming for this one, right? Or maybe since it's a public release they want people new to brand to know what it is without reading the fine print? Still, I feel like fun naming is a Bruery hallmark...

Email also says more Archiversary beers coming, so get ready to swap your "we need more beers" complaints for "now my wallet hurts" complaints

Just early entry into Black Tuesday party in Oct and free entry to the beer & cheese pairing at the end of the year. No small merch this year.

How did the BT party early entry work last year? DId anyone use it? I would assume it was only 30-60 minutes early entry.

30 minutes early access. Was enough time to try a few things with no lines, but overall I didn't feel I wouldn't have been able to try everything without that time.
