Anyone know what the base beer is for Out of the Lunchbox? It's just described as "ale".

I thought PB & Jelly Thursday and You Know What Time It Is were really good - curious how this one compares, especially since it will probably be quite different at such a low (for The Bruery) abv.

It was a fresh batch brewed off the pilot system for the party.

Ya. It allowed me to basically grab 5-6 tasters before the place got really packed. Was a nice perk, but definitely not necessary

Wait, so what's the deal with the Boysenberry Black Tuesday on tap for SMM today? It's described as "Black Tuesday with peanut butter powder and boysenberry puree.", while PB&J BT was described as "Black Tuesday with peanut butter powder and boysenberry puree."

So, is that a typo, or is this the same beer with a new name?

It looks like on Untappd Black Tuesday Boysenberry is described as "Massive BBA Stout aged in wine barrels with boysenberries & vanilla", so I think it's just a typo on the website. Damn, I was so excited for a second (though this also looks pretty good)!

    My SMM notes:

Out of the Lunchbox - It's alright, the base beer is a little thin. The best way I can describe it is the crust of a PB&J sandwich where there's more bread than insides.

Foster Happiness - delicious, and flavorful. Lots of flavor from the spices and the banana is on the back end. Easy max for me.

Etain wine barrel - Solid, it tastes like a well aged Gratitude. I have a feeling like this will age well.

Boysenberry BT - Fuck. YES. I'd buy every bottle of this if I could. The fruit brings down the heaviness of the beer. Exceptional.

Red Wine BT - Good. I'm digging these BT treatments. You can definitely taste the oak and the red wine in this. If you don't like red wine, you'll hate this. Another great candidate for aging.

Foster - I found the spices a little too heavy for me, but they did seem to fade slightly as the beer warmed up. Might be great with a little age?

Boysenberry BT - Completely second this opinion. This beer is the shit. I want bottles.

Im confused, so is boysenebrry BT different then PBnJ Thursday? Sounds like it. Grandma Knotts Tuesday with peanut flour instaed of vanilla. Maybe this is the pilot batch they made a year ago before PBnJ Thursday came out?

HS included bottles for this year include "Sundae Sunday" which was described as BT with boysenberry & vanilla, so... thinking that's what this is? Uncertain if the bottled one will be bourbon or wine barrel though.

Where did Red Wine BT sit compared to Port BT and Sangria Tuesday for you?

Is Red Wine Etain at all comparable to Madeira Sucre?

Boysenberry BT is getting checked in by people on untappd but it doesn't show on the menu now? PB&J Black Tuesday does show up on the u ntappd menu though, not PB&J Thursday.

All I know is I wanna try Boysenberry BT cause the description sounds amazing.

This one has peanut butter flour instead of vanilla.

No, according to people at the TR (not me, but friends of mine) it has no pb flour, but does have vanilla. That was apparently a typo on the Bruery Terreux website. *shrug*

Now I get it. I thought you meant typo on Untappd. Thanks.

    Hey all,
The new BT variant that went on tap today at Terreux for Society Member Monday is a single barrel project. It is Napa Cabernet Sauvignon [red] wine barrel aged Black Tuesday with boysenberries and ground/pulverized vanilla beans (which we refer to as vanilla powder).

No peanut flour in this one.

    Cheers,
    Andrew Bell
    Innovation Manager/Experimental Brewer @ The Bruery/Bruery Terreux/Offshoot.

The black Tuesday with boysenberry is delicious. The Boysenberry is big in this one and brings down the big bba flavor from normal black tuesday a bit, but that is still present. If this was in bottles I would definitely max.

Out of the lunch box was disappointing. Was hoping for more. Not much flavor.

Foster happiness was delicious. Got a ton on banana and cinnamon on the nose and taste. Worked great together.

Peach sour blonde was good but nothing special. Peaches were there but not overbearing. Sour but not mouth puckering.

Red wine BT tasted nowhere near Port BT nor Sangria BT. I know nothing about wine, but it had that spicy butteryness that red wine can have. I definitely enjoyed it though, I'm glad I bought the bottles I did.

Red wine Etain was much less sweet that Madeira Sucre (which is my favorite bruery beer). It had a great aged old ale taste. I felt like it had that 5+ year age taste, which I love in old ales and barleywines.

Thanks for clearing that up, Andrew. I’m drinking it (boysenberry BT) now and it’s very tasty.

Standout for me on SMM was 2013 chocolate rain bottle pour, what a delicious beer. Thanks for pouring bottles like that on SMM.
