Enjoyed a City Lights IPA while watching Justify win the Triple Crown. Now onto a Sierra Nevada Stout.

Poured into a DFH tulip. Smaller than expected brown head over a dark brown body. Smell has a pepper heat component over a boozy creamy malty aroma, very pleasant. I don't know if my palate was scalded last night by the cayenne onslaught of Ballast Point's Indra Kundira but this doesn't have the back of the throat bite that was distinctive in the full Bomb! But it still has a very pleasant pepper taste on top of the delicious base stout.

I was expecting to not enjoy this compared to the coffee variant but you can call me a fan. Can't wait for the vanilla and chocolate.
