    Kind of striking out with these Gulf beers...but then again I knew I wasn't getting into world class stuff over here.

    This one from Louisiana was rated highly - "outstanding" in fact, so I had to check it out. I went in expecting a NE IPA of sorts, as that's what the BA reviews are touting - but maybe I've just been spoiled (and in this day and age, it's not hard to drink good beer). It's not necessarily a bad beer, it's just really strange for me. I get the NE IPA thing going on, but also some weird beet juice/molasses and it's throwing me quite a bit. I think the gulf still needs to get their IPA game on target, though some of them are not too far off. Luckily tomorrow we venture into Florida and that's where the good beer starts rolling in. I gave this a 3.82 out of 5, it's not bad, just weird. Perhaps I'm the odd man out - 74 ratings and lots of them well above the 4 threshold.

    I don’t know if anyone answered your question but the last number is the year, the two middle numbers are the week of the year and the first number is that day of the week. Looking at the code, that was bottled 1/3/18.
