I no longer can say I don't know one person who likes their beer. We all like what we like. Cheers, man!

This made me laugh. I feel exactly the same way. That said, the place is 15 minutes from my house, the food truck food is decent, and the patio is dog friendly and great on a sunny summer afternoon. In addition, I've had some nice beers across the street at the People's Pub, including Hill Farmstead.

Very true. Thier Nor Eastah was one of my top beers last year. To add more surprise, I haven't found most IPAs from Equilibrium to be that enjoyable and no IPAs from D96.

I like Chatham just fine but to be super into their hoppy beers and not like EQ or D96.... wat. Different tastes/palates, I get it, but that's actual crazy talk.

I'd say super into is a bit of a mischaracterization, the one was up there for me thought and others have been enjoyable. It is fact however that I'm not that into the EQ and D96 hoppy offerings.

Just arrived at the Catskills house. Psyched for my visit to Suarez on Wednesday.

Also not sure if you guys have ever been to Westwind Orchards. Run by an Italian guy who is friends with the couple who own saraghina in Bed Stuy. They make cider and use the same pizza dough recipe to make their pizza in an outdoor pizza oven - both amazing. Anyway had been a few times before but this was my first visit of 2018 - seems they finished their tasting room over the winter, and they now have a couple of dedicated Suarez lines (and I believe I saw a bottle or two as well). So if you’re a “I must have beer” type of guy, then now there’s no excuse not to go. Beautiful spot and great for kids as well. Just outside Accord.

And that was the beer I had - delicious

I should clarify - they make “hard” cider. I forgot that in the US if you don’t stipulate hard, then it means fancy apple juice

Anyone get growlers here? Do they counter pressure?

I don’t think so as they use 750 bottles. They will fill outside growlers of the 32oz. Variety and I believe also 64 oz.

So probably a week at most shelf life on growler fills here? Or do you think I can get more time? I might visit Friday and really want to be able to enjoy some takeaway stuff for a month if I can.

If that’s the case try to get as many cans and bottles as possible. I’d give any growler a week but beyond that you are at risk of flat beer I think.

No counter pressure filling at Suarez, though I've had growlers be fine after a couple of weeks. Regardless, no matter where you're getting them filled, you want to consume growlers as fast as possible. Regarding Suarez specifically, you'll be able to get cans of Qualify Pils to go and also a number of the country beers (saison/wild). So, you'll want growlers of the hoppy pales and any of the other helles/lagers that they have on when you visit.

Thanks! I'm hoping the pils lasts til Friday and I will do growlers of the helles/lagers.

Dan and team do a pretty good job of keeping it stocked: keeping the window of absence minimal. Thus, another run of Palatine or Qualify may be in order

I've had growlers last a few weeks. In fact, I've never had issues with a growler that I stored for too long, and for context last July I got like 15 fills or something in one trip (pre-cans obviously ) and they were all fine till the very last one. Probably was finishing them up in mid-August.

I think they do a CO2 purge. They're pretty anal about making sure their fills are tip top.

Gotta echo @inkman15 and say you should get a couple fills of their pale ales. I just had a crispy little last night and damn was it good.

But dude really if you wanna do it right you gotta get some bottles. For all the talk about their lagers, their country beers are some of the best beers I've ever had period. And don't get me wrong I love their lagers - Palatine is my favorite pilsner and it's not even close - but the country beers are just unreal.

And @rozzom thanks for the tip on the cidery, sounds pretty awesome.

I was lucky enough to make it up there late last week to grab a nice little stash, most of which I already gluttonously consumed over the weekend. I should have purchased like 3x as much as I did.

Fine Line, Local Boy, and Summer Whoa were all new to me and all absolutely incredible. Don't sleep on Local Boy in particular, it might be the most refreshing and drinkable "all-local ingredients" beer I've ever tasted, unique grain character with a well-balanced hint of tartness.
