I picked it up in New Milford (is that still considered Fairfield county?)

It was $9.99 and worth every penny. I'll take the two less beers and this beer every day over House Lager, which I like too, but much different beers. I like it a lot more than Post Shift too, it's hoppier, greater depth and more importantly, fresher than the old Post Shift on the shelves. Now if only it makes its way to my home turf of Hartford County...

Good point, it is significantly better than post shift.

Any comments on Aramis? I like that it’s described as drier than Workhorse but am not familiar with the hop. Spicy like Saaz?

Drinking the 5/18 can of Superfluous now. I literally check Counterweight's instagram hourly on Wednesday/Thursday to see what their can releases are. It's been so good lately and Superfluous doesn't disappoint. Does anyone else get a big grapefruit aroma/taste on top of the tropical stuff? Very nice.

Seems to be amped up from when it was Audition. Counterpunch is so dripping with Galaxy (realize there are other hops), it tastes like Green in the heydays of Monson.
Westfall's offerings are so balanced. However, let's not forget that NEBCO hasn't fallen off. Apparently, not only a teacher but has excellent students. Can't wait for Tribus.

Vulture Culture back in cans today! Got some of the last audition: Lustration last weekend which was very good.

I'm liking the frequency of Vulture Culture. I went there on the drop day of Thursday, which was a very nice day, and was floored it was so chill there. Open spots at tables, plenty of room, only a few folks walking in to get cans. Was pretty happy that they haven't been over-hyped yet. I'll take getting my beer without problem each and every time over waiting in line or walking away with nothing.

Yeah I went Friday to get Vulture, Double Inundation and Lustration and even though they were pretty busy I was able to get in and out with cans pretty fast. I really hope this never changes!

It continues to amaze me that their beer hasn't generated a crazy line culture. Their hazy ipas are really as good as anyone's that I've had. I definitely believe that some of these others places want the lines and market the beer/structure the releases in a way to bring those lines out. Counterweight does not do that, they just sort of announce it matter of factly on their Instagram. I also believe that the hazy IPA line mania is ever so slightly starting to die. This doesn't mean that they're losing popularity, but I think that the line culture may be cooling a bit. Thank god.

Yea I sense some slight fatigue starting to form. It's just a matter of time in general. It'll still be a bit but it has always been a "fad" in the sense of the pure hysteria around the hazy IPAs. There was no way that was going to sustain forever, consumer tastes change and you inevitably hit a saturation point. But yes, CW is awesome in part because you don't have to deal with that BS and still get stuff like Double Inundation which blew my mind.

Everything is stellar. Get several tasters and have a ball there.

Could be. I also think it has to do with CW's consistency, allotments, and total volume of the batches since the beginning, there's no artificial hype or limited supply. I can pop in on Thursday/Friday nights and grab 3 4-packs without standing in line. Zero wait.

So far it's always been like that and I think that allows people to chill out and not be there for open creating this hype/line environment. As long as Matt stays consistent and keeps an eye on the trends we have a sweet spot in Hamden.

It's because CW does not play the hype game. I wish they would but I'm happy to pop in and out, get a pour or two and leave with a 4PK.

By the way, Creature Preacher is an outstandingly delicious beer for a single IPA.

Why would you want any brewery to "play the hype game"?

Because the brewery deserves it. Plain and simple. And I live in the area too  lol

Why would you want your local to become overrun with lines for beer? If I had my choice of Counter Weight scene or Treehouse scene in my backyard, I'd take Counter Weight every time!

CW needs a larger hype radius to increase trade weight and/or social media likes?

I'm being selfish about hype increasing trade value. But like I said, the brewery deserves it anyway.
