It's a Founders theme for me today (before sleep to prepare for another overnight)...
My last of this iconic brand:

My first experience with this beer was a total "Holy S*&t" moment circa 2012. Although it is enjoyable now, it no longer resonates the way it once did. That is not to suggest that I am now an NEIPA (i.e. highly turbid, low bitterness) lover...I just don't enjoy the hops as much as I once did. Duvel Tripel Hop Citra is about as much bitterness I enjoy these days!

My (revised) review in posted back in 2014 (but 2012 was my initial experience and resonated closely with what is published):

The Coffee, Chocolate, Bourbon Barrel and base Stout are in absolute harmony. I will not wait and make certain to consume my allotment in the next month (or two). There is no reason to sit on KBS (or...like hops...any coffee stout for that matter) because the coffee will fade and you will lose a major component of the aroma/flavor that is so integral to the beer as the brewers intended.

    Cheers...and good night!

Having a lavender beer, brown ipa annd apple pie beer at right brain in traverse city. Not a lot of hard hitting beers outside of their barleywine and dipa, but they have a lot of interesting flavors. Food truck out in front

Another new Burial beer; and what a surprise it’s excellent.

Name got me thinking especially in my line of work where I see a lot of dead youth; remembering the young kid shot earlier this week at 20 over a Louis handbag and a few grand in cash probably.

I’m only 26 so it hits home. I’d been listening to his stuff for a few years now and despite his shortcomings the kid had so much potential.

    RIP xxxtentacion.

Pours a very dark brown with a small khaki head that fades to nothing quickly.
Aroma was mostly smoke, peat and hint of whiskey.
Taste was almost like licking a dirty ashtray that someone might have spilled some Scotch.
The beer was thinner than expected, and very little carbonation.
Overall this was a huge disappointment. I love Scotch ales, especially BA one. To me it was a disaster, but then again I'm not a Scotch drinker.

This is a really nice old school Pale Ale with a somewhat understated but well-balanced flavour profile that's crisp, clean and easy drinking. Then again, when you compare it to something like Zombie Dust or Pseudo Sue, it really struggles to come up on top...

Home and in the pool. In my travels I look for, inter alia, fresh beer in the shops and grocers...I’ll be darned!, today’s winner canned 06/14/18 is the freshest Jai Alai I’ve seen in almost two years! Thank you Wegmans:

Very nice Black IPA by Spain's Basqueland. Great balance of roasted malt and fruity hops, with strong notes of licorice and pine.

It’s 78 degrees and sunny this afternoon, and the pool water is an invigorating 70 degrees...hummingbirds are hitting the lilacs and the dogs would play fetch all day if only I were not so lazy...
