I think one of the major issues with Beerland and Vice in general is that they desperately try to intertwine their political agenda into nearly every show, and most times it ends up failing miserably. Beerland and Huang's World are perfect examples of this. _uck That's Delicious actually works really well because they let Action do whatever the hell he wants without an underlying political theme. Sometimes I just want to watch a beer or foodie show without having to pick a side to agree with.

I had to watch some of this show to see if the host was as bad as everyone says she is. Yikes! I literally cringed minutes into the NOLA episode. Like an android trying to convince us she’s human.

    YouTube comics are gold, too...

“Lol what a hipster walking down the street with her hand in her pocket and a personality on par with a potato”

“She's as enthralling as your Mom's cancer diagnosis...”

“Meg "that's a really good beer, man" Gill”

    Never change, internet anonymity...never change.

Yeah, I think there's about oh,100,000,000 people in the beer industry who are more interesting than her, but that's what we got. And on paper anyway, it makes sense: woman, 25–35, L.A.—she's the Viceland demo. In practice… well, we've seen the result.

The Oskar Blues thing was a part-time gig than gave her time to train, but she really took the reigns at Speakeasy, which is where she learned most of what she knows.

I don't want to crap on her too much—putting together all the pieces to build a brewery, brand, and product line with national distribution in your 20s is pretty impressive—but someone definitely needs to coach her up on hosting, or add a cohost to bring some color and life to the show.

She's absolutely awful in every way. Suffered through the first season. Watched a couple of episodes from this season and couldn't do it anymore. I won't watch it again unless, they get a different host.

I guess I am easily entertained. I watch it, mainly just for the sheer awkwardness of it. Prof's for picking the winner though, curious how they will make and sell that puppy, or if it will simply be a shell of it's former self

That's certainly a different angle. As an unintentionally funny show. I'll have to give it a go.

I saw that a new show was on last night and figured one more try. I lasted less than 1 min and had to turn this off. She needs to stay away from the camera and just do her thing, its definitely not TV.

You know Tony Yanow "cofounded" Golden Road, right? Just Google that name if you don't know who he is and it will explain a lot.

I watched an episode last night, I enjoy it because of the home brewers. It's also cool to see different states/neighborhoods/cultures/ that make me think I might want to visit some of those places. Her awkwardness has just become odd entertainment on the side that I force myself to not take too seriously

I think Shane (@Sixpoint) would be a great host. And he actually truly cares about beer.

Yeah, I knew that, and I know who he is. But if he partnered with a 20-something with a dead-eyed stare and the charm of a cigarette butt floating in a glass of piss, she obviously brought something to the table. So business savvy, thumbs up; TV hosting, thumbs down.

She definitely had connections within the beer industry, but outside of that I'm not sure how much she brought to the table.

I happened to watch an old Episode of Brew Dogs the other day. It was the Los Angeles episode from season 2. Meg is in the episode at Golden Road. The episode showcases area home brewers who work with James and Martin to create a home brew. They have people judge the Beers and the winner gets there beer on-tap at Golden Road. Then it occurred to me. They stole the entire idea for the Beerland show from that episode?! It's amazing, it's the EXACT same show! Of course Brew Dogs has James and Martin who are entertaining. Funny thing is Meg doesn't come across so still and awkward on the Brew Dogs show as she does on Beerland?Strange.

Of all the "High End" beer brands I've had, I'd put Golden Road close to the bottom. Wolf Among Weeds is decent, but everything else is meh.

I'd take most anything Elysian over Golden Road any day of the week.

I had no idea this show existed until a couple weeks ago. After watching 3 or 4 episodes, I thought "this show has potential but the host is weird/awkward, I wonder what the general consensus is on Beer Advocate". Spot on, everyone.

Pretty much every brewer I've ever met would be a better host than her. But I'll keep watching, as the fact that it's somewhat cringeworthy at times makes it watchable.

How is a previous sales rep and owner so socially awkward? Both those jobs require you to be around and interact with people daily. After doing sales for 5 years I got comfortable talking to anyone. In the beginning there were a lot of akwardness.

I keep wanting to give this show another shot but it actually makes me feel awkward.
