To whoever was asking re: Chapman Super Smooth Coffee, they have singles at CBC Eagle Rock if you don't want to commit to a 4pk. Or did a few days ago, anyway.

 

Yeah, pretty sure I saw some yesterday when I stopped in around 5:30 or so.

 

That was me, I ended up grabbing a 4 pack. I liked it, but I seem to have a thing for lactose coffee IPA's.

 

A good thing? Or bad?

 

Good. I tried Fieldwork's and then chased this down when it came out. Loved Fieldwork's, like Chapman's.

 

Stared at a can of Super Smooth today... couldn’t pull the trigger at $6.99! (And this is coming from a dummy that just spent $13 on a slice of avocado toast with a fried egg on top of it!.) Maybe next time!

 

Was at Windsor’s earlier for Solo cans. Saw the Super Smooth there. Passed on it. First time for Solo.

 

However will you buy a house?

 

Ok, went to the source today and tried Super Smooth on tap. It wasn’t bad. To me it tasted more like a Blonde Coffee Stout (Naughty Sauce style) than a coffee IPA. Glad I only got a flight pour. $22 for a 4 pack and $6.99 for a single at local shops is absurd.

 

Saw Sandy's on main street HB is selling bottles of Pliny for $14.50. Went with booming rollers instead

Hi all - I'm currently hunting for Fremont Rusty Nail bottles in the West Side or South Bay. I know it was released recently. Has anybody seen any in the area?

I grabbed one last year, but it broke in my luggage on my way home for Christmas . Still looking forward to trying this beer one day.

Thanks for the tip! I ended up finding some at Number 1 Liquor in Redondo Beach after work. There are two bottles still there on the shelf when I left. Cheers!

 

Re: the Maine Beer Co. stuff that’s been showing up in L.A., most of it’s been 6+ weeks old. I also suspect it’s not been shipped in cold trucks. Except for one great bottle of Woods and Waters, the several bottles I’ve tried have been muted and disappointing, almost iced-tea like. If MBC is going to be a presence in this market, they’re going to have to ship fresher and/or colder.
