Another Tree House for me, no complaints.

True - their Powder Dream releases have been very good, and Tears of Green, as well - I'd rate this peer to those, and yeah, better than most of the rest I've tried in the past...

    Cheers...

Drinking Bryggmästarens Premium Gold from Åbro, Sweden's fourth largest macro brewery. 5.7% abv, 29 IBUs. The typical Swedish Export nowadays is around 5.2% abv so that has opened up the field for a slightly higher abv segment around 6% which is more full flavored, either malt sweetness-wise or malt sweetness and hop wise than the regular brands. Åbro's Premium Gold belongs to the latter. It offers some malt sweetness along with a distinct hop aroma and flavor and a balancing hop bitterness. Basically it's "extra everything" compared with a regular modern Swedish Export, and I think that makes for a great pale Export lager beer.

Cheers you all. I know it's been a while but I am still here. I want to say thank you today to @2beerdogs for sending me a box of beer i can really play with. I have set my sights on the box starting today and leading into New Beer Sunday. I want to cook and pair each beer he sent with food. Today this is my dish. it is not as pretty as I wanted but it sure was good. This beer is not my first choice for pairing with my dish. The beer I paired most successfully with this dish i will review on NBS but today I thought I would start warming up. cheers! Today I made cod with saffron lemon cream sauce with lemon ginger soba noodle.

This beer poured lemon yellow and hazy with a creamy white head of thick foam that fell gracefully and clinging. . Nose is citrusy and herbal hop. Plenty of earth and spice. The palate is smooth and even a bit soft with lots of spice and citrusy fruit. I had a hard time pinning down the fruit but I would say lemony , melon sometimes and floral. The drink was smooth and had a nice hop presence without a lot of bitterness. Finishes smoothly and with lots of hop flavor although I could not differentiate any of the hops. the mosaic were so sweet in the background and the simcoe were plenty juicy without any cattiness at all. graceful body and softer carbonation. This one had a few esters from alcohol and that enhanced the nose. The flavors were all well married and I thought the malt in this beer had a substantial presence on the nose and on the palate. At 7% this was extremely tasty and very crushable. Paired well with my dish. The soba noodle brought out the hop spice in this beer. very light body, mintier hops that don't show too much mint coolness if you know what i mean. Slightly grassy and thank you @2beerdogs . You have made my day as the saying gose and I am going to spend it cooking with your beer! cheers you all and TGIF!

I have to say that I liked this MUCH better from the bottle than I remembered it on tap about a year ago. Maybe I just expanded my palate since then, but I think that place actually ruined it by somehow overcarbonating it. Quite funky, with a strong dryness and moderate tartness. Complex, yet drinkable, very nice.

    Ok...an afternoon excursion...

Liberty Craft Brewing...a seasonal operations .

A not so stout blackberry stout with decent flavor but watery feel. Raspberry cream ale with great raspberry flavor, texture again lacking. I guess Chupacabra is their IPa, I guess NE style. Not bad flavor, tropical fruit, but again watery. Last Summer Lager which was quite decent. Food a bit pricey, but good. Million dollar view, beer needs work.

Next stop a few miles away was Lake St. George Brewery.

Impressed! Nice, tidy brewhouse albeit very close to the civilian area. Super friendly staff, knew her stuff. I believe she was the owners wife. Tasted St. George Quad...excellent quad reminding us of Pretty Things Grampus. Full bodied, full of sweet, malty goodness. On the left us Kerplunk, a blueberry sour that got me to do something I never do...purchase a growler. Not an in your face sour, nice but not overwhelming blueberry, not a lip peeling sourness. Just right for summer drinking. Dan McGovern is brewing some good stuff, and from Facebook looks like a lively joint on the weekends.
