Brother-in-law was down in Sandusky over the weekend. Told him to bring up some Yuengling for me. So he brought a 6er of this.

Can't complain, this is very refreshing!
    Thanks, Dick

[IMG] I broke down and decided to have my first today. A huge fan of this one, but better on a 45 degree night.

A local porter, supposedly a 'smoked' porter but there really very little if any suggestion of that (I don't expect an Aecht Schlenkerlar smokiness, but still...they say they use some smoked peat malt in the grain bill), and a local tradition for many a year. 100% of the beer's profits go towards Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts and their Creative Community Efforts.

...and burgers for Rocket the Wonder Dog and me (his little burger got cropped out)...

Zwickelbier at the Highlands Ranch, CO outpost of Rock Bottom. It’s across the street from my office and completely serviceable. This particular beer is a little better than serviceable and a nice showcase for Hersbrucker.

Don’t worry lager lovers, a trip into Denver proper and Bierstadt is in the offing for tomorrow or Wednesday.

Hoppin' Frog Andy & Fred's Excellent Adventure Vol 1, 12.7% ABV. Pours black with a half-finger brown head. Nose is chocolate, citrus, dark fruit, leather (belt, not shoe), and pine - really complex, lot's more there that I couldn't identify. Taste is chocolate, dark fruit, roast malt, with leather on the close - like chewing on a belt. Excellent mouthfeel - thick for a porter, overall outstanding - for the complexity, which I fully expect to change further as it warms.

Another good Triple Crossing DIPA. My friends, I recommend you visit this brewery (two locations) if you ever find yourself in the Richmond, VA area.

From @The-Adjunct-Hippie. Delicious Berliner. Good head retention and minimal lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of sour/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, citrus zest, pear, green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, and grass; with some wheat, cracker, white bready malt; light pepper, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and lactic acid in the mouthfeel; some fruit tang/tannins. Moderate increasing acidic/tangy/carbonated dryness, no pucker. Very flavorful/refreshing, 3.5%. Not watery. Spot on style stuff. Great balance of jammy raspberries, lemon zest, and Lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Really well made. 3.9

Amazing milkshake DIPA! Fantastic lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, blackberry, blueberry, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal. grassy, spicy bitterness; and slight fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready malt/lactose, light sticky hops, and slight lingering resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Great soft feel, not aggressive. Dangerously smooth, minimal warming 8.6%. Awesomely juicy/light dank Mosaic hops with nice Blackberry presence; great wheat/oat/malt and vanilla/lactose balance, no overly sweet/heavy from lingering bitter dryness. Definitely buying more asap. 4.33

Always sad to finish these off. I’m tired from the beach but I have a fantasy draft in 45 seconds. This still tastes amazing.

Premier is a magician. I hope him and Nas do an entire album together before I die. At 92 years old, I'm still spittin that grimy, sidewalk talk. Just not sure how much time I got left up in this piece.

All joking aside, RIP to Keith Elam aka Guru. Gang Starr is a legendary duo. Guru & Preem. Peace...

You know what they say.. Only the good die young. I'd take AZ or Nas or both with Premier. Maybe include Bun B and Too Short and have the greatest throwback of all time.

The last new beer from my trip to Tree House and in my opinion the best of the bunch. The glassware seemed appropriate given the color of the can. Football is back soon!
