What beer are you drinking now? #2137

Crazy day at work, so a good beer is needed, and Odin's Oathkeeper works.

 

I think I still have half a case of regular from 12 or 13 in the basement (before they were dated at least) and I don’t remember them making this. Was it brewery/tap only, or been longer?

 

With wrapper. Perfect.

What a dick kicker of a week. What day is it again? Cheers, y'all.

Audiotricz- Don’t Hold Back

 

Top tier Oktoberfest as usual. Big flavors of cracker, bread dough, toasted biscuit, brown sugar, nutty, and light caramel malts; with light herbal, grassy, peppery earthy hop presence. Light herbal, grassy, peppery balancing hop bitterness on the finish. Great medium-plus bodied creamy/bready Munich mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Super clean lager flavors, no cloying sweetness. Such a pristine offering for the style, one of my favorites every year. Very clean and rich pale/Munich malts, with balancing earthy hops. Still have to revisit my rating for this one eventually. Ayinger remains the top spot.


This is excellent as I remember last year. Glad they went to cans(year round). Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread dough malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and moderately crisp. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Pretty refreshing for an IPA. Really great balanced dank/earthy/piney and citrus/tropical hop vibrancy; with a solid malt backbone, and minimal residual sweetness. Feels more dank and resinous than I remember in bottles, but it's fine by me.
