Very tasty brew, maybe a little bit sweeter, less spice this year. Something different, maybe not.

Pumpkin Patch Ale | Eddyline Brewery

    Cheers!

Fantastic as usual. Flavors of big toasted coconut, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, dark bread, marshmallow, and light coffee. Light balancing roast bitterness against sweetness; with an amazing creamy/silky/velvety medium body; light touch of sticky/chalky roast character and dryness. Glad it was easier to find last year. Definitely my top favorite coconut beer, but there are plenty others I buy more often. Wish this was year round. I bought a full case worth of 4 packs this year. Still have some left to hold me over til November or whenever the new batch comes around.

Amazing APA. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate toasted bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very refreshing for a pale ale, not overly aggressive. Amazingly juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced Citra hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness from lingering bitter dryness. Revisited the review recently. One of the best in the style I've had, even though my rating dropped by a large margin. Still really fresh.

I read your post. Yes in its entirety. Most folks seem to have ADD in this regard. Not me. I have completely different issues.

I already forgot my point but thank you for your post.

Got brother in law visiting the rest of the week at the beach so there will assuredly be posts that folks hate.

It's an odd duck, that's for sure. I don't like beets, thankfully this beer is all hops so they put just enough in for color and not flavor.

In a very surly, pent up mood tonight. I need to take the edge off, and a 2016 BCBS is doing the trick.

The Ballast Point was like that, Red Velvet Cake, I believe it was and it wasn’t very good to me. I eat beets and love them. So that’s a beer I’d try. Cheers.

Top tier Oktoberfest as usual. Big flavors of cracker, bread dough, toasted biscuit, brown sugar, nutty, and light caramel malts; with light herbal, grassy, peppery earthy hop presence. Light herbal, grassy, peppery balancing hop bitterness on the finish. Great medium-plus bodied creamy/bready Munich mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Super clean lager flavors, no cloying sweetness. Such a pristine offering for the style, one of my favorites every year. Very clean and rich pale/Munich malts, with balancing earthy hops. Still have to revisit my rating for this one eventually. Ayinger remains the top spot.

Stillwater Shoegaze. Excellent hoppy saison! Aromas and flavors of big lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus zest, and peppercorn yeast/hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough malts; herbal, floral, grassy hops; and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness and mild herbal/grassy/citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Nice bready/grainy wheat and fairly sticky hops/yeast in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy dryness. No hop astringency. Super refreshing. Awesome mix of hop/yeast complexity going on here. Seamless integration. Nice pale/wheat backing malts, no residual sweetness. Perfectly balanced all around flavors.

Funny thing about this D-IPA, if one would try it blindfolded, you'd swear it was the typical medium gold hue. It's a mind bender!
