Seconded on that. Nice location in downtown Hastings. Good, not spectacular beers.

The Growler features a "Now Open" article on BeerClub Brewing in Mora. I found it approximately average for a new brewery during my visit. It had a couple of flawed (but not gross) beers, but a couple of pretty well-executed lagers showed promise. As a nanobrewery fan, I enjoyed the makeshift vibe of the small, no-frills, clubhouse-like venue.

Any new brewery that comes out swinging as average is in a good spot. It's the outright horrible ones out of the gate that don't stand a chance. Average tends to figure it out within a year or two and start turning out some very good beers.

Linked is an article on LocAle and Minn'Ohana, two Mankato BIPs scheduled to open in September and October, respectively.

Boom Island needs to relocate to NE Mpls. They need a few more to really show the rest of the state how a neighborhood should be like.

Boom Island appears likely to relocate to Minnetonka or Plymouth.

For some reason they are renaming their Wit with a aeronautical theme. Wit flight.

So if I understand this correctly, the owners of Boom Island began their business 8 years ago in a location they knew was a high crime area, (“We had hopes that the neighborhood would change.”) And now they want the public to financially support their move? Pretty tacky if you ask me.

I assume the real-estate term "location, location, location would include an area crime-quality of life assessment & not just cheap digs. There's a reason the property was/is so inexpensive!
