    Most chores and "assignments" done for the day, so time to surf an afternoon buzz with a local anniversary DIPA...good stuff from Cerberus a few miles down the road...



    Big and bitter with a decent malt base. Nothing extraordinary for the style, but absolutely fits the style profile...

    A stop at Storm Peak after a ride up Buffalo Pass in Steamboat. The Wet Hop U fresh hop is really hitting the spot after bouncing around for a few hours!

    This is a Cologne "Knupp", the dark cousin of Kölsch, if you will, which was actually outlawed in the 17th century and has been largely forgotten since then. Which is a shame, because I sure prefer it over Kölsch any day of the week with its roasted malt character and strong notes of coffee and licorice. Great stuff by this small, new microbrewery from Cologne that keeps on impressing me.

    A DC Brau offering that I think is a once or twice a year offering. Mosaic hops used in Space Reaper, resembles the malt profile of the Falconer’s Flight-based On the Wings of Armageddon, but has an overall more tropical/melon fruitiness with a lighter spicy/piney bitterness.

    Lucky for us Florence looks like it’ll mostly miss us. Hope it works out similarly, if relatively, less troublesome in the areas that aren’t getting to avoid it.

    I don’t indulge in many triple IPAs, but this one is worthy of your consideration - a lotta hops, a big ol’ malt backbone, and a smidge of booze at the end of the taste. My first beer from these guys, I’ll be back.
