Saugatuck Brewing Paled It Pale Ale. "Vacation in a Can". Supporting local. Tigers vs Indians on the telly for the moment. Cheers!

Pretty good NA. Fantastic head retention and thick lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of lemon, pear, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and toasted biscuit malts; with light honey, pepper, herbal/grassy hops, and yeast earthiness. A bit of stale unfermented wort notes as expected, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy wheat and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, mild hop astringency. Very smooth and pretty refreshing. A bit harsh finishing. Balanced citrus/earthy hops, fruity yeast, and pale/wheat malts. Quite tasty/enjoyable. Feels like an APWA base style mostly, thought it'd be a Berliner initially. 3.56

Rye Whiskey barrel edition. Wax got a bit brittle after 5 years. This was insane as expected. Awesome head retention/lacing for the ABV, crystal clarity. Aromas and flavors of huge raisin, plum, prune, fig, cherry, date, apricot, red apple, red grape, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, rye whiskey, toasted oak, vanilla, and brown bread; with light notes of nuts, molasses, licorice, cocoa, leather, tobacco, herbal/grassy hops and yeast earthiness. Very slight booze in the aromas as it warms. Very mild herbal/grassy hop and rye/whiskey/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body. Very creamy, silky, velvety malt mouthfeel. Slight slickness, sticky hops, whiskey/oak tannins, and increasing dryness. No cloying sweetness. Mildly increasing warmth of 15%, with no barrel booziness after the finish. Dangerously smooth sipping. Amazing balance of fruity yeast and rich malts; with perfect rye whiskey barrel integration. Minimal booze/tannins. Not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Seriously If you are willing to pay the price, these have all delivered amazing results regardless of the barrel! Would seek out other new ones, but still have a few other variants in the cellar. 4.4

Abbaye de Leffe S.A. Leffe Blonde, 6.6% ABV. Pours clear pale gold, with a nice 3+ finger white foamy head that left lots of lacing. Nose is banana bubblegum, taste follows, almost no bitterness. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent. Reminiscent of a Hefeweizen.

This is style #107 out of 111 for me, a Belgian Blond Ale. Not the best Belgian Blonde I've had, but the best Belgian Blond Ale.

Little bit of a burn here but very, very good DIPA from local guys Destination Unknown aka dubco. Get that blueberry mosaic taste for sure. At 9.3% this should only get smoother.

Bois and the variants are phenomenal. That was the first anniversary ale that I tried from the Bruery, and I was hooked!

Beer #2. Brewed with falconer's flight, ekuanot, and styrian dragon hops. I've never even heard of styrian dragon before. Honestly, this one is kind of a dud. The taste notes are all weird, like it doesn't know whether it wants to be a NEIPA or go old school, and whatever is there tastes watered down. Good mouthfeel, but taste and smell are not there. Cheers!

Not Veil. Not Triple Crossing. But a very good IPA brewed by Center of the Uiverse. Damn, cost more than I paid for three different Veil IPAs/DIPAs this week. But Mike, why do you care. You are living off the taxpayer dime with your Social Security. True. But I did pay into it from age 15 to over 60.

Pipeworks Velocity of Light IPA (Galaxy, Mosaic, Mosaic cryo). Definitely my favorite hazy beer by these guys so far. Tons of juicy citrus and tropical notes with a nice layer of Mosaic dankness. Finishes drier like their other hazy offerings, but not as intensely dry. This is damn good. Cheers!
